Can't you just weld the two peices of the OBX together?

Yes, u could weld it together it's made of stainless steel.

I'm using my OBX for 1.5 years and never had a single problem with it :)

i dont understand how obx would get away with designing a short shifter that breaks when shifting hard. isnt there any type of warranty against that type of thing?

I got a C-type shifter from RVM, which looks like an OBX. It's missing parts, and looks cheap as H$!! The plastic piece on the bottom that fits in the hole of the shift rod is way small and is just sloppy. I'm sending this POS back and ordering a B&M from Horsepower Freaks!!! DO NOT buy a cheap shifter!! B&M is far more experienced in this field than any of the others!!

I got a B&M ripper shifter in my TA, if I can make my 240sx shift half as precise and tight as what that did for my TA, I'll buy the one for the 240 - no hesitation.

It's an old thread but i'll contribute to it.I have a C's and it's one of the best shifters made. It's not noisy at all and the throws are a lot shorter. I also have a b&m in my s13 and i have to say that i like the C's in my s14 a lot better. If you don't care about a little buzzing and rattling from the shifter, the b&m is pretty good too.I've tried out some of the C's knock offs from egay and they are all worthless. The b&m knock offs that i've tried don't seem as bad.
