why does it only belong to hks? when we can get it from many sources and there are price listings if you look around this is just one of the sites i found. i've read on other many other forums with people praising it. as long as we can get it thats all that matters. i can find the potato 25xx 28xx just look around. its weird garrett doesnt have a set price. you can look around and see sites selling them for near msrp and others selling it slashed by 3-500$. im pretty sure optionimport.com can get them too. i dont think they will be making up product names they dont have.

i dont want to argue too much... all im trying to say is i dont think the t28 off the s15 is all that great vs other options. you dont need have to think the same its cool im just expressing what i feel are better options.

if you look around for 15 clips from more direct sources you can get it with all the body panels also and still paying 4-5grand only. after selling off the oem body/interior you can pull it off for under 3-4k. not only that it comes with the giant brake calipers too. what you also get is the t28 and you know it hasnt been lying around for 10+years.

what im trying to say about going bigger injectors, radiator, fmic, ecu piggy etc is after doing all that i want more power for the buck. lots of us would have to pay so much $ for about 250-300hp. id rather add a little bit more money for a bigger turbo that spools just a tad slower and produces much more power.

again if you dont agree with me thats alright. we can spend our money anyway we want. im just trying to open my ideas to others.

I have a question regardingt the gt2540 on ther website:

"The large .70 compressor cover means it is not a bolt on fit on some cars, and may require a spacer plate to lower the turbo away from the exhaust manifold from the compressor cover or a custom manifold."

doesn't thta mean I may have to custom the intake piping, elbow and probably the manifold, dump pipe, down pipe as well?

I don't really have a visual as to how it'd fit on my car but it's probably yummy

if youre looking for the ~300rwhp youd get from a s15 t28 then that turbo would be too big anyway, no matter who makes it

Juujai, im trying my best not to escalate this to a full blown argment, but when you say something like you can get a S15 clip and "pull it off for under 3-4k" my eyes roll into the back of my head, my brain starts dribbling out of my ears and I start having seizures. Please post your $3K S15 swap. Heck post ANY $3K S15 swap, I've never seen one.

I make more wheel horse power than a stock S15 spec R and all I have is a $750 s15 T28, $800 FMIC, $400 exaust and $500 fuel managment (and probably about another $600 worth of stuff that helps out). All bolt on, all bought brand new. I've driven 10,000 miles with this setup with zero problems, and I've enjoyed it the whole way. Anyways, I dont care about peak horsepower, I care about having good low-end grunt for my 60 mile round trip commute every day and having ample torque and power from 3000-7500rpms for when I'm racing at the track. I use my car for EVERYTHING, so I have to have a everything turbo thats oem reliable.

Ok, some places sell a hybrid and call it a GT2540R (says it used to be the GT25R on that website you linked?), it sells for $10 under $1000 and doenst come with a wastegate. If a more laggy turbo with higher flow capacity is your prefrence, I have no problem with that. To each his own turbo.
