Synergy, I couldn't agree more especially since I live in Iowa and snow is evil to someone who doesn't own a garage...

I think us younger people have it kinda hard on here, but i think that is because we're impatient and want instant gratification instead of searching. In my case, I have searched the crap out of the forums and have never failed to find something that i needed. So I rarely ever have post anything...

Just had a few "noob" questions about rb25s and it was more of wondering. But whenever your younger than anyone they bring age up. Instead of actualy attacking your knowledge they decide that since they are older they know so much more. I dont have money coming out of my eyes so its hard for me to even get half the tools that you guys have.... And getting experience is hard when you have a single 2 ton jack and a driveway on a hill especially when we have a foot of snow out 5 months out of the year.

/end rant.
I totally know what you mean, im not going to lie ive personally done that in real life, usually the younger guys around here are the most bulls*** liars ever. You have no idea how many local guys tell me what I should do with my evo or 240 because they "read" or there brother brothers friend said this or that. You have no idea how many times ive herd, oh you bought your parts from burshur racing?!? You should of went to AMS they have a XXXX hp evo and this and that. I really do not give two f***s less what anyone has to say about what I do to my car. If the person acts like a douche bag or a cocky ***hole im prolly not sticking aroun to hear the next lame a** story. If i ask for an opinion that would be much different. I am here to learn just like everyone else, I love reading and learning about cars and engines, its a true passion for me. On the other hand I know how it is being in college, with no money and eating ramen everynight. I know what it feels like busting my a** at a 10hr job after going to class all day, wishing I had a garage or tools to tinker on my car. I am not rich by any means but me and my wife are blessed with our jobs. and with what we have now days. There are plenty of "younger guys" out there with a good head on their shoulders, that just do not have the means of having space to work on anything. In the past 5 years my garage and lift have been used more by other people then myself, I let several 18 year old kids around this area use my lift, my air tools, even a space to park the car if they need too. Why? because they are very responible and respect my home and tools.

the problem here...and i won't mention names either...isn't age as much as it is facts and experience. so many kids run their mouths in technical discussions when it's obvious from their responses that they are just responses and have no actual fact or experience behind them. just their own logic.

the kids that deserve respect are the ones who either:

A - know what they are talking about and can prove it without trying to make personal attacks to defend themselves

B - join a discussion with some fact to prove someone wrong instead of just spouting off opinion and resorting to option A

OR

C - stfu and realize they are wrong..accept that it's ok to be wrong (we all are wrong at some point)...accept it and learn something new instead of try to start pissing matches.

i don't mind being wrong...but PROVE me wrong...with facts....don't just act like a 5 year old and throw insults and opinions into the discussion.

that being said...i don't have mad amounts of money or time either...but i do have TONS of experience with all different kinds of cars and motors. and i'm not talking about ur simple clutch jobs...i make a living building race motors and modifying peoples vehicles. and to this day i still learn new things everyday. and what i do know...i'm glad to share with those willing to listen. i enjoy helping people.

I should have never brought up age because I don't want this to go OT and turn into a discussion about age. My point about age I was trying to make (and failed) was the ONLY times I have ever found out how old somebody was on here was because I (a) know them personally--maybe not face to face, but have emailed or talked to them at length or (b) somebody made a retarded thread that sounded like it was written by a 14 yr old who saw a Skyline one time in a movie and is "planning" his big AWD RB26 build.

I really think 99% of the people on here are 30+ judging by their knowledge and advice, and I have been surprised by some people a couple of times who have told me to STFU and stop picking on some newb douche because they themselves are 19. I didn't know half of what a lot of the 19yr old guys on here know when I was that age.

On a personal note, I was for sure in the same boat with the no money/tools/facilities thing. I was an E-4 in the military when I showed up in japan (trust me, that means POOR) and the only reason I could build what I did was the fact I was living in japan and RB stuff is WAY cheaper there than it is here. I have the utmost respect for you guys that know all this stuff that young. There is a vast difference between you guys that just posted and some dude who has never done anything more than install some "speed parts" he just bought from autozone on his honda.
