Well I figured I would add another pointless thread in this section. You morons CANNOT search.

I have concluded that the RB section of Nicoclub is now as dumb, if not dumber, than Zilvia.

Do you f*cking kids just buy sh*t without doing ANY research?

Edit: My coworker brought up a good point. Most 240 owners have migrated from the Honda crowd so they can "drift". This explains everything. I apologize...

So how do you really feel?

Dumber than Zilvia.. I don't think that's even possible.

But, I understand your frustration at seeing so many repetitive questions. I think we've done a fantastic job at compiling a huge amount of information on RB motors and how to swap them into 240's and other cars. We have so much experience and knowledge that it's rare to run into a a lot of new questions. People certainly could find most of what they need if they will just use the search function and consult the sticky threads...

So... Search Newbs!!! If you can't find the answer after searching, then feel free to ask a question of the forum and preface that question by saying that you've searched and not found the help you needed.

HAHA. Why would honda ricers leave honda? You can drift a FWD!

I go to a "honda" school where all they do is honda...So annoying its unexplainable. But having a skyline swap does get you some respect. Atleast they know they cant touch it!!

I love this holier than thou RB talk that some of you folks have (not you Joe). Purchasing an RB did actually add 2" to my phallus which was cool. 4" of fury.

Since Joe didn't say it, I will: Either be part of the solution, or part of the problem.

If the community is worth contributing to, there's NO WAY we can do it without the help of the participants - So get involved.

On a side not, if a "useless thread" ruins your day, you probably need a hobby.

Let's not let the RB section become the place where pompous douches come to circle-jerk each other - That's reserved for Corvette, Porsche, and some BMW forums.

It's just an engine - I got one too.

Joe, put our friend to work, please?

p.s. SEARCH NOOBS!

LOL, awesome.

Ya know, we should make a sticky for "Retarded thread examples that will get you flamed" and everytime somebody makes one of these gay a** threads like Joe is talking about, flame the piss out of them then post a link to that thread (along with all the rest). Then newbs can see examples of retarded crap they shouldn't ask first hand.

Yep!

Plus, it gives me a chance to pop in and see who's appointed themselves the Ambassador of All Things RB-Powered.

All I can say is, I'm sure glad Joe runs this part of the forum.

Even tho I own an RB (and damn near every other Nissan motor series), I can't tolerate the self-important, indignant posts from those who think they're experts.

Be helpful or be silent. Good rule to follow.

i gotta say though...i know i've asked some simple questions when i've been in a rush and don't have time to search....but most of the info is out there for sure. just takes some initiative and willingness to sort through the BS.

I think if you do a search for a similar thread to this one there are probably thousands in the archives! There are way too many ppl forgetting to use the GIANT FLASHING SEARCH BUTTON! I mean wht do you really need from us a EASY button?

How about we add a new button for ppl who continue to do this that directs them to Zilvia and permabans them from NICO??

i used to be on the RB forums multiple times a day... These days it seems i'm lucky get on once a week. There are seriously no fresh topics, no cool builds, no new products, no new RB engine theory. It seems everyone on this forum now is broke as hell, and can't afford to buy decent parts. I've kept my mouth shut on a lot of build threads, but there are some people that really need to just find a cheaper hobby, rather than half-assing their car builds....

Some of us don't post up with the intention of trying to impress others.

We just build cool stuff for the satisfaction of knowing it's badass.

Besides, everything's been done. Twice. If not more... and for what I put into my RB, I could have had more torque and reliability with an LS.

I don't think people on here bust balls because they think they are special or their car is the baddest thing on 4 wheels. There are just too many kids getting on here and posting up stupid questions about builds they will never try that they dreamed up reading Import Turner magazine and waisting people's time.

You should see the broke s*** rust buckets that come out of my state, with glitter bodykits, cheap a** sportmax wheels, mix matched paint jobs. If your always lowballing people to buy stuff for your car( thats already cheap) . You might want to look into modding your education and get a better job. I hold onto stuff anymore, I will not even waste my time trying to sell stuff to 240 owners.

+1 we all like to help....but it get's harder and harder to give advice when you can just tell it's some kid who only thinks he's serious. or when some you dips*** comes in talking like he knows everything from all his forum knowledge.

and AZ...yes some of us are picture whores...but some of us are just proud of our work too!

It also can be annoying when people have the "Im better than you" Attitude. I know plenty of people who are older than me who don't have a clue as to what their doing.

Nobody ever said younger guys are less knowledgeable than older guys. The only time age is ever brought up is when some stupid 17 yr old magazine dreamer comes on here talking about swapping a RB26 into an Audi A4 which he doesn't even own using a ZO6 transmission and keeping the AWD functionality. When I see questions like that, I automatically look at their profile to see how old they are and low and behold they are almost always teenagers. I'm not knocking teen agers AT ALL. Seriously, some of the younger guys on here have some awesome rides and do all there own work---more so than myself in many cases. I don't assume somebody does or does not know something because they are a certain age, but you do have to admit there are a certain group of ricer teens out there that should have their keyboards taken away.

Sometimes I give people attitude for asking "why does my engine misfire at full boost?" or "what do I need to swap an RB into my S14" or "how do I run a Z32 MAF?" or "How much boost can I run on my RB25?" and questions like that which are in stickies and that probably isn't the best thing for the forums. It annoys me when people have gone out of their way to put the info out there and people just don't bother to look. They expect things handed to them on a plater. Like I said, that's annoying as hell, but I will try to provide answers along with my "SEARCH!!" speech.

There are people (no matter what age) that come on here just day dreaming and talking about the $20k swap they are planning with the world's most JDM tight Tokyo drift spec engine they saw in 2F2F when they have no real meachnical skills, knowledge, research time, or money. I'm sorry AZHitman, I plan to continue on giving them the type of responses they deserve. They are wasting everybody's time and I don't think anybody should go out of their way to make them feel welcome. It's your site though, so if you warn me directly about something I say, I'll tone it down because I do want to stay a member of this forum. There is/are some good knowledge, experience, and resources on here that I would like to continue to take advantage of.

CJ i beg to differ. I wont mention any names but yes age is held against you alot. I dont think i have said anything too stupid on here. Just had a few "noob" questions about rb25s and it was more of wondering. But whenever your younger than anyone they bring age up. Instead of actualy attacking your knowledge they decide that since they are older they know so much more. I dont have money coming out of my eyes so its hard for me to even get half the tools that you guys have.... And getting experience is hard when you have a single 2 ton jack and a driveway on a hill especially when we have a foot of snow out 5 months out of the year.

/end rant.

i actually agree to this somewhat. Younger age is generally attributed to people with less knowledge. This is a clear stereotype but you know what, its always going to exist and you just have to get over it and not let it bother you. And heres another stereotype for you. Younger guys tend to complain about how they have no money or time to do proper work or buy proper parts because of school, work, whatever. but guess what, these are just poor excuses because everyone is pretty much in the same boat you're in and probably even worse. Do you think it gets any easier as you get older? I'm in my 20's but I can still tell you it gets exponentially more difficult to work on cars as you get older. You just gotta suck it up, and get over it...
