Well... a home-fabricated SC might not be too reliable... but one that had some R&D money behind it.. made of quality parts that are designed to work with each other would certainly have lots of potential. And besides... boost is boost... SC's give a more steady and CONSISTANT amount of boost... if anything it would be better for the engine than a turbo.

I suspect that the reason companies haven't backed such a product is for the reason Stillen gave. They WERE not a very popular car... and also fitting an SC is a big issue with a 240. There isn't much room on top of the engine to put one.

Quote »superchargers and the KA dont mix. there was a guy running a s13 with a blower for a while, but then had issues. ka-t is all around a better thing than a blown one for some reason. [/quote]

The fact is 2-5 years ago everyone was saying how the KA was not cable of a turbo and shouldnt be in the 240 since its a truck engine so just get the SR cause its a better engine. Well the fact is some people that can think for themselves and were willing to put some time, money and blood or what we will call R&D started to bust out some bada__ KA-T's which opened eyes and gave the low budget 240 ower something to shoot for.Personally I like the idea of a SC better considering the application I want to use it for(autox) and its consistant power curver. The cost vs performance is also very import here as well. if its to costly and not very performance beneficial then it would not be worth it and you could either have a rebuilt NA KA, KAT or SR. LIke stated above people believe there is not a lot of room for a SC but I disagree. If you were to remove the intake manifold and put a oil relocation kit on the block you would realize there is a ton of room on that passanger side of the engine. Yes yes I know you have to have a intake manifold but that is also something that could be redesigned to help in the fitment process. If you stop and think about it though when you look at a stock KA you wouldnt think there is a decent amount of room for a turbo but once to start removing\relocating items you have decent amount of space.Let just see stillen cater to a market that is not very budget high like its G35, 350z and 300z owners. Sorry to thread jack here and I am not hating on stillen in anyway, welcome by the way ;)

STILLEN wrote:I'm aware of the full thread. I chose to thank all of 'us' as a collective group. We offer a few items for the 240s, but admittedly, not enough to make everyone happy. There were not that many cars built to begin with, and at the time the demographic for the vehicle didn't support millions of dollars in R&D Expense. Now, I'm affraid, we have missed the proverbial boat.

I rather like the dysfuntionality ... feels like home.

Okay, so let's say I stop by on my lunch to say what's up. Am I going to get the stuck up response I'm used to or will there be a warmer reception? I'll hold you to your answer since you don't know who I am...

S14SRPilot - Please don't take this the wrong way, but you'll notice I deleted a few of your unnecessary posts.

I'm kind of wondering why you'd be so concerned about your treatment in a shop that has nothing for your car and that you have no intention of buying from? And if you don't like the "response" you get there, why would you keep stopping by?

That's like me walking into Racing Dynamics (BMW Tuner) and expecting them to be excited to see me...) Of course, they know I'd stick a NICO sticker on their door.... :D

I would like you to come by and ask for me. I would be more than happy to give you a behind the scenes tour, show you the race car, some of the prototype things we're working on (no cameras please:)). That is how I like to handle things. Our receptionist is very friendly and our Sales People have been working on their customer service skills - otherwise known as sensitivity training.

I am sorry if you feel like we were stuck up or negative towards you. That shouldn't happen. It's all about presentation. Now if you rock up and say "yo! Ya'll sell f@#$# car parts. I want a damn turbo for a car ya'll don't do s*** for". You might not get a very warm reception...:pface

But we shouldn't be negative towards you until then.

Make sense?

What about the other cars we have parts for like Sentras, G20s, Maximas, 200s .... we don't get credit for the millions we have invested and continue to invest in those>???

this makes me wonder if we can prevent certain posters from posting in other sections but one, cuz if we can do that, I think the admins need to make me a moderator of the newly formed Nico Short Bus:D

Its awesome to see a shop take criticism like that & still be friendly.

I have no experience with stillen either way, but the way you handled this thread is the opposite of stuckup.

Fair enough. BTW I was never ghetto when I went there. The people that were there were just plain stuck up. I ouldn't believe I was visiting a business. Perhaps at the time they were too stuck on their name. However, I will come by and ask for you. Hopefully you will give visitors there a new and better impression of the company.
