WOW.. I almost started to follow that until:

gradma....yadda yadda....evo 6... yadda yadda.....Daunttless... God....... blah blah......... 500 virgins!!!!!!! WTF!!!!

ok that's where I lost ya.... virgins are good for one thing only SACRIFICE!!!!! AARRGGGGHHHH Other than that they get all attached and s***.... no thanks........

If so then you MUST change your name. I know it hurts, but you need the two to match and you don't want to be associated with that other shop. The only other solution is to offer them some money for their domain. If there business is strong they won't sell. If it isn't then you might get it for $1000 or so.

As for another name, it will come to you once you've separated yourself from the current one. It's a mental thing. Nothing will sound good until you've done that.

Good luck man. Either way I can't wait to do business with you. Later!

Agreed. Daunttless, honestly, you don't want to be associated with any other shops, period. It may only be a small percentage of people who can't find your site, but that is still lost business all the same. I liked the midnight racing name, but now that is taken as well! :( And I don't think it is wise to use the same name as another company and just add a dash to seperate your domain name from theirs, again, too big of a risk IMO.

You seriously have to change the name of your company to something unique, and different, although I'm sure eventually someone will copy it. Its not easy, but IMO its your only route to take, you don't want to be quoting one price, and have a potential customer going to another shop only to find out the price just doubled! Thats going to tarninsh your name as well, and considering you are just opening up and word of mouth is the best advertising, I highly doubt you want to take that chance. Maybe you should put up another post asking for ideas for a shop name? We got a shop that does EXCELLENT work out here, and they are called Cyber City (internet cafe?).

sorry bro, can't think of anything good, but if I do, I'll let you know

good luck!

I wish they had nationally registered that way I would know they existed. The bastards. Oh well.

Does everyone like Afterdark Tuning?

ie

http://www.afterdark-tuning.comand/orht ... tuning.net

both are free....

dark dimesion is a heavy metal website. : )

I'm still waiting for a response from the other Midnight to see if they will sell out. But they don't answer their phone or their emails apparently.

LOL. In a post back I told Daunttless he is some kind of god I forget for what and he said something like "Im not a god yet im applying soon. By the end of the year I can be a deity." Basically I was saying if whenever I do convince my grandmother to engine swap her car everyone will be impressed with it and not know is was direct-bolt in and think he was some metal fabricating car genius which would make him the most popular guy in the universe. Since that would happen he could go straight to a god, but if they refused him and he was a deity that he demands 500 virgins a month for a more sexual sacrifice.

Daunttless, I like afterdark-tuning.com. The name afterdark just has a better sound to me than midnight. My vote goes to that.

Since the word tuning came up...I think AfterDark Tuning is a good name and has a solid meaning for what Daunttless is going to do with his shop. Like for example Signal Auto, JUN, etc are all referred to as top "tuners." so if Daunt decides to go with AfterDark we will have to start referring to his shop as tuner, and hopefully down the road it will become the best in the US!

rereading that...i hope it makes sense...but anyways my vote goes to: AfterDark

Plus it also has that corny Japanese-like sounding name to it.

Dauntless i don't think anyone has suggested NightSports, Night-Sports(don't think you'll be confused with KnightSports and if you are it will probably be to your benefit), Midnight-Auto, Midnight-Garage....just a few thoughts....gotta add more choices to your poll....especially since people seen to be leaning toward the Afterdark name. I definately don't like MidnightRacing...sound more like a Club ..or a video game. Anyways best of luck.

Heh, gotta admit when I talked to Torry about the shop in Iowa and heard about it being MidnightMotorsports I was a little frustrated. http://www.midnightlab.com is the home of my future company, a friend who owns an M3 is using it right now for the M3 engine failure documentation. Feel free to check out http://www.archive.org to see some of the old material that was on there. Not a whole lot really.

http://www.netsol.com/cgi-bin/...pe=do

As you can see we (myself and others invested) have owned the domain for quite a while. South Florida based top-line performance shop is the goal. Only problem is I am realizing there are way too many midnight-something's in the automotive scene, not to mention some guy who overheard the idea a while back and is trying to start MidnightAutowerkes in the South Florida area......

Anyway, just thought I'd contribute that to the thread.

AfterDark Tuning sounds good dauntt, maybe you should change the poll above just to see everyone else's opinion

Yeah and they have no idea what they are doing, which ends in teeth marks and non freaky sex :(

however, virgins can be fun too...you can mold them ;) :naughty :evilhaha
