You should edit those pics out of your quote, IMO. Makes the thread look sloppy with duplicate pics everywhere.

Those wheels are Work VS-XX. The car in the pics you asked about is the exact same car as right above them. The owner just painted his wheels from gold to black.

IMO, the Kouki s14 is naturally aggresive looking. It makes sense to strengthen that trait when designing the look for your car.

But the defining trait of the Zenki are it's sexy curves. To me, it isn't meant to look aggressive. It's meant to look sublte and sexy. That's what I keep in mind when I look for exterior upgrades. Thats my taste.

Yeah, I posted that one, because despite its inherrant ricey-ness, I still like how a tastefully done R33 kit can make a Zenki look. It strengthens the continuity between it's big brother of the time, the R33. That's just my opinion though and its not a popular one. lol

I don't like the fact that his side skirts seem to be molded ... But that kit plus this hood/grill/clear headlights, more agressive drop and deep dished wheels would look great to me.

It's just gonna need good pwer to shut up the R33 style haters... lol

I am saving up for an rb26dett with an rb25det trans its gonna be a pain in the a** but when i get her dialed in she will be NASTY!!!

The grey Zenki with the r33 kit doesn't look like it has mold side skirts to you? Maybe I need need glasses...

I don't know how much power any of these cars are putting out. I'm not a big SR or RB fan. I'm hoping to put a VQ30DET in my s14 and a VQ35DE in my s13. Someday... Someday.

ummmmm....ok yeah i think your right now that i look closer at it but at the same time it doesnt look like it idk. You a big v6 guy? Ive only seen one vq swapped s13 in a magazine its different and i think you should definetly do it. Im not a big fan of rwd sr20 personally. i wouldnt mind owning a vh45de-t powered s13 hatchback.

I'm a fan of lightwieght, award winning motors that have good horsepower/torque and strong racing pedigree.

To offer some insight, the VQ30DET makes the same hp (and possibly more torque) than an RB25. But it only wieghs 330lbs. That about 20 lbs more than an SR20, 55lbs less than a KA24 and almost 200lbs less than an RB25/26. VH45DE is heavy as phuck! Plus, not only is the VQ series newer (circa 1995) and more advanced technologically than the RB series, the VQ30DET can use the 350Z's 6spd transmission.

There's quite a few VQ swapped cars running around now. I believe they are the future of the 240 platform.

WOW I had no idea it was like that! The only down fall i see with the vq's is theyre limited to a certain hp as the rb's have that high hp/tq numbers im gonna reach someday. As far as the 6speed goes i dont care 5 or 6 as long as its manual. All the 6th gear does is save gas on the highway really unless you get extensive race work done to your trans to stretch your gears for more top speed gearing for the 6th gear. But i will look into the VQ30det swap for a 240 for drifting. How hard is it to swap or do you know?

THAT is precisely what I want a 6spd for! lol

As far as power limits of the VQ, how much is enough? In a 240, even 350hp is SCARY FAST. The VQ35DE's internals are pretty reliable up to 400hp. But since the VQ30DET is the only VQ motor that Nissan decided to turbo from the factory, it's quite a bit stronger than the VQ35. Here's a VQ30DET swapped into a GTS Skyline which is heavier than a 240.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLnEjNI9b_Y

On street tires it ran an 11.2 at the track, and makes 500hp with bolt-ons. We're talking just a better turbo, injectors and a tune here. In a 240, that might be a 10 second car.

Don't care about drag racing? VQ30DET S13 drifterhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXP9Dij2IWo

But those are Austrailian cars, which are RHD. Installation would be a little more challenging for us LHD users, beacuse the turbo manifold wants to occupy the same space as our steering linkage. But thats ok! Where there's a will, there's a way! USDM S14 VQ30DET swap in progress:

http://www.vq30det.com/phpBB3/...=1773

Yeah, it's not complete yet. But that guy has a great rep as a car builder. I have no doubt that he will finish it with few problems and it will be awesome. But if you don't like how he mounted his turbo, you could always decide to add another and run twins on both sides like Nissan did when they ran this motor in their JGTC GT-R racecars!

Hahahaha holy crap man your like nissan vg30det seller or something. i would imagine its the same swapping it into an s13? I still want an rb26dett powered s14 at about 1000hp with 950ft lbs of tq HHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I drooled all over myself! But i will take your advice and try to VG an s13 as my Daily Drifter! Would you reccomend the 30det or getting a 35de and adding the T later? I cant wait till someone boosts the VG37DE!!!

A VQ is a completely different motor than a VG. But yeah, I'm a little passionate about that motor. I just want to encourage ppl to think outside the box on these kinds of things.

zerothread?id=426629

I sincerely hope your are kidding about wanting a 1000hp RB powered 240. Such a creation would be completely undriveable except in a straight line. Stick around on NICO. Eventually you'll see how ludicrous an idea that is.

yes i know but i like the vq37de its ballsy throaty and its displacement is my favorite number!

Hell yeah i want a 1000hp s14 it will be a nasty muthah! Why wont it be driveable? theres 1500hp skylines and supra's that drive around just fine. I just have to fight my urge to stomp on her everywhere i go so i dont fry my tires up!

I am with simmode, you do not want 1000hp. Yes, it will make you poop, but undriveable.

VQ power is the future. Just think about it

EDIT: skirts look molded to me

It's VQ37VHR, not VQ37DE.

Skyline's and Supra's shouldn't be compared to 240's at all in their ability to put power to the ground. The GTR has AWD helping it to distrubute the power and torque. The Supra is RWD like the 240, but it's chassis is much heavier, like a Skyline. Their chassis are engineered to handle big power and put it to the ground. 240's... not so much.

I'm not sure what the fastest car you've ever driven has been, but I recommend going out and test driving a newer car that has ~300hp. Like a BMW 135i for example. I think you'll find that that is plenty fast. And then realize that a 240 is probably at least 500 lbs lighter than whatever you just drove. And does not have traction control.

If that doesn't help you at all... just try asking around for input on building a 1000hp RB powered 240sx. Just be sure to wear a flamesuit.

I'm not saying an RB26 swap is a bad idea, but you really should reconsider your power goals.

Also, don't forget a diaper.

Yes, me too. I became interested in this powerplant when I read simmode's initial thread. I am seriously considering this for my s13 hatch, but I have a lot of research to do in the meantime.
