Hello All,
I am a new forum member. I recently purchased a 2001 Pathfinder LE 4x4 that I absolutely love. I have tried searching this forum for some answers on this code but cant find anything definitive. I know the code points you to the swirl control valve. I have replaced this piece with a factory unit along with the vacuum tank that it goes mounted on. I have blown air through all of the vacuum lines as well. I also replaced the control valve check switch. I've reset the computer and I still cannot get rid of this code. The car seems to be running fine except for SES light being on. If anyone has any experience with this code and can lend a hand with some info regarding it I would sincerely appreciate it. I've thrown almost $300 into fixing this code and still cant get the light to stay off.

Thanks so much.
Wil

Could be the solenoid.

Update, Nissan Dealer fixed the problem.
The issue began after my mechanic had replaced my valve cover gaskets. They had to remove my intake manifold obviously to get to the valve covers. Shortly after I got the 1130 swirl control valve code. My mechanic then replaced the swirl control solenoid along with the vacuum tank it goes mounted on. When that failed to keep the SES light off he then replaced the control valve check switch. Light still came back on...he couldn't figure out what was going on and sent me over to see the service Manager at my local Nissan dealer that happened to be a friend of his. They put their best mechanic on the issue to hunt down the problem. After diagnosing it turns out when the mechanic did my valve cover job he did a bad job of reassembling the intake manifold. They found a small leak in the intake manifold and the vacuum lines were all routed incorrectly. It was really jacked up. The dealer re-did the job. Put on a new intake manifold gasket and ran all new vacuum lines correctly. No more code, car runs like new and wastes allot less gas. My Mechanic friend that owns the shop was nice enough to pay for the bill from Nissan to fix the disaster his mechanic caused. He also fired the mechanic who did the job because he said this wasn't the first job he jacked up. I felt bad for the guy who got fired but man he caused me weeks of grief trying to figure out why that damn code wouldn't shut off, also caused me to waste money on parts I didn't need. All is well now, I'm glad its resolved. I share this in case anyone else ever has trouble with the P1130 code, if after changing the swirl control valve you still get the code...make sure your vacuum lines are routed correctly!

Good to hear it's fixed.T0 bad for the next guy that "Mechanic" jacks up.

How many miles on the Pathfinder? Did you read about the Power valve screws and putting loc tight on them? I thought of that because the intake manifold was off and could of been done at that time.

Thanks Leo, no..unfortunately I hadn't read about that issue on the power valves. I have 125k miles on it. Runs like new, hopefully that never becomes an issue for me. Next problem to fix is a leaking rear main seal that I haven't decided if I want to address yet.
