Ok here it is. I went out the other night and thought it would be a great idea to get some pratice at drifting. I made one pass and I notcied a strange vibration in the drivetrain. Its better in nuetral than it is when its in gear and in gear with the clutch engaged it feels the same as when its in nuetral. It gets worse the higher the rpms. I looked under the car yesterday and nothing screemed look at me im broke. I am generally good at doing my own work and figuring out what wrong but this one got me. I did clutch kick the car so I'm wondering if it could be the clutch. Any help would be great

Thanx

You may have torn some of the clutch facing off, or just unbalanced some of the drive train. Does it only vibrate while driving? Or will it do it when just revving the engine? You may have pushed your tires of of balance. Is there any noise that accompanies the vibration? Is the car modded at all?

it has a cat back and elec fan swap but nothing serious. there really isnt any noise its just a horrible vibration. if the car is sittin in the driveway there is a little vibration but i think its just the exhaust. its mainly when your in gear and its gets worse as the rpms climb. i just drove it and ran it hard all the way to third gear and other than the vibration everything seems normal

Did you check your motor/transmission mounts or is the exhaust touching anything? Other things that cause vibrations : All bushings , driveshaft , suspension , tires , wheel bearings , loose lug nuts , tie rods even just 1 loose bolt/nut! 1 time my front lower control arm almost came off because of hard use loosened the nut/bolt.

Considering that the vibration occurs when in gear and not when in neutral (I'm assuming that while at speed if you're in neutral or have the clutch engaged you don't feel it?) that would say to me that you can completely rule out tires, bushings, mounts, exhausts and the like.

based on stevetodd's description I would say the issue is somewhere between the clutch and the rear axles... meaning transmission, driveshaft, or rear diff.
