I platisdipped my rear emblem, grille, and side mirrors for about a year now. No sign of peeling at all. I personally like plastidip

Oh no no. I don't plan to wrap my whole car. Maybe the roof and that's it. POSSIBLY the door mirrors. I don't have thousands of dollars. Hahaha. But thanks for the input. I know a whole car wrap in vinyl can cost upwards of four grand.

Plasti Dip, just like vinyl or traditional paint, needs to be installed correctly if you want it to be show quality. This is a new industry, we discover new and better ways to install the product everyday. I'm sure the first years of vinyl were completely different then what we see today. Just the vinyl materials alone are night and day from where it all started. The same thing will happen with plasti dip. We have developed new thinning ratios and installation techniques that leave zero texture, no fogging or hazing, and a perfectly uniform and smooth surface every time. Let the haters hate, if you want to go with a unique concept or color for your ride, and know you can peel it and go with something else when you are tired of it, plasti dip is the way to go. We are mixing everything from Candy Pearls, to Chameleons.. Matte, Satin, Gloss, and shades in between. Just make sure you buy from someone who knows how to mix, and can give you good advice. Hit us up if you ever have questions or need assistance, even if you don't want to buy materials from us, we will definitely take care of the NICO family. www.DippedSD.com

Welcome aboard, SD.

This statement alone is *almost* enough to discount any valuable or viable point you may have... It's this generations's version of "Whatever, dude."

I won't go into further detail since it's your first post here, but if you're a business owner, erase that phrase from your vocabulary - with a quickness.

Just a little tip from someone who's been an entrepreneur and successful business owner for decades. :dblthumb:

Way cool of you to provide info and guidance... Shoot me an email if you decide to "kick it up a notch" and become a full-bore vendor - We'll take good care of you as well and help you increase your brand recognition (it's what we've been doing for 13 years).

I'm actually very interested in the taillight and headlight treatment you've developed... maybe a feature article for the homepage? Let's rap.

to wrap in canada was quoted 850 / a can of plastidip is $7 and this can take about 20 cans ?

$850 is insanely cheap for a wrap. In the U.S. it starts at $1800 for a full car Vinyl Wrap.

And they don't really use cans, they have a kit for it now. They send you everything you need to finish the car, the only thing is that you'd need a paint gun with a compressor. And some knowledge obviously lol.

OMG i sooooo wish wrapping the cars cost $850 here in FL..... -____- thats a steal of a price especially for something that has more quality/durability. Plastidip peels very easy. i've dipped a few sets of my rims before and they come out nice but for the whole car Vinyl would have such a cleaner and nicer finish.

A word on vinyl wrap:

I had a '91 Land Cruiser which the previous owner vinyl wrapped completely in a jungle camo pattern. 5 or 6 or however many years later in the Texas sun when I bought it off the guy, that crap DID NOT WANT TO COME OFF. As in, there are/were thousands of little cracked sections of vinyl hell the size of your thumbnail IF you're lucky, or even tinier, that just made the whole removing job a PITA. I was however, in all fairness, able to peel off the sides of the SUV that hadn't cooked in the sun as bad, but even with that gone, the huge hood, and roof, along with upper half (pillars) still was a big job that I never got around to before selling the Cruiser. Here is a picture of how I sold it:

So now, removing vinyl, at least after 4+ years is probably NOT going to be an easy job unless you've already peeled it sooner seeing the cracks and problems develop, OR your vinyl wrap stayed out of the sun and didn't develop all these tiny breaks in between sections.
