This question can be easily answered. Read the sticky at the top of the page, its full of stuff you need to know if your going to turbo your car.

Heres the link ----> zerothread/226410

This one too -----> zerothread/99647

Short answer, it is a terrible idea to run stock injectors with a turbocharger.

You can use stock injectors if you run a super low boost setup. In a few days I'll be using stockers with a T3/TO4e 50 trim and an exhaust a/r of .63.

I'll be running 3 to 4 psi just to start out with. Stock injectors keep their efficiency up to around 180 or 190 to the wheels with a proper FMU setup.

I may or may not make a build thread...but I'll see, lol.

When it comes to using stock injectors, the realy issue you need to address is how safe your setup will be. I've seen stock injectors on setups making 210 to the wheels, but anything greater than that will give you really lean afrs.

That's cool your CUZ gave you a turbo. By the time you add all supporting mods, you will still be in the neighborhood of $1200-$1800, depending on where and how you get your parts.You can run an FMU with stock injectors, but I don't recommend it with a t3/t4 set up. That will be too much air moving without enough fuel. You'll be lean as hell, blow your engine in no time.

If you use a FMU you will be fine. FMU's were sold with turbo kits a few years back before there were lots of supporting aftermarket parts for the KA. The 8:1 FMU and under 8psi is a great and reliable combo. More then 8 and you'll need a new fuel pump and ignition retard.

The stock injectors are good for 4 psi of boost before they run out of steam. But I would make sure I had a wide band O2 meter just to make sure. If you buy an adjustable fuel pressure regulator you can bump the base pressure up 5psi or so and be alot safer.

8psi max with the fmu, 4 psi max with stock injectors.

well I'd jump in with the stockers can handle xx psi but my motor blew dont beleive it to be from lack of fuel. I do beleive 32* out on a stone cold motor and 10psi dont mix tho. I was runnign an insane fuel pressure on stock injectors up to 10psi(well 12 a couple times the wastegate line blew off) without issues, but this was on a sohc ecu tuned dohc motor, with walbro hotwire mod and really high fuel pressure a/fr were always around 12:1ish some richer spots with a z32 maf btw. I'll be getting some bigger injectors but I'll reboost with the exact same fueling setup.

stock injectors are not the smart thing to do, I luckily know how to tune for the injector pressure change and what not, I had good luck over 6000 miles over hard life, do I tell you to do it? NO!!!!! dont pop a motor over the 400dollars for injectors, hell if you want to be cheap, be nice to the sr guys you could pick up a set of 370's for 50 bux...

Is that 8 psi with an 8:1 FMU on the stock injectors? Are you saying that you can't use the stockies without an FMU or that the they simply cannot handle more than 4psi?

If you are using the stock injectors with no FMU, then your max boost is 4 psi. If you use the FMU then 8psi is your max with a stock fuel pump and no ignition retard. If you can retard the ignition and have a better fuel pump, I'd say 10-12 psi would be the most I'd run.

Thanks, that's what my other research had led me to believe and I just wanted to make sure I wasn't mistaken. I think this is the route I'll be taking for an initial setup, since the turbo I have is internally wastegated at ~7.5psi.

ic is ok from ebay, but iwould suggest that the mani b quality, from experience of course.jgs top mount,peakboost mani, dont go cheap on this.and what else are u gonna do,exhaust? maf? ecu? tune?if i were u i would think about the long haul. what do u want in the end.300hp 400hp,and buy the real deal stuff to acheive this.
