Yeah it does, it makes this whooshing sound evocative of a blow off valve...wait, thats my tape recording BOV mad simulation...seriously though, it doesn't really make any sound except a couple of clicks to let you know you've engaged through the most precise short shifter out there...out of curiosity, chet, what kind of Panoz race cars did you say the B&M short shifter felt like?

esperante

I think thats how you say it...

very tight gearboxes..also kinda reminds me of a S2000 with a greddy shifter or something...

I would say NSX< but the NSX has a smooth shifter feel, and its not as tight..

It actually sits lower? Wow, my C's shifter is stock height and still i can go from 1st to 2nd with the flick of my wrist. In fact, i put a brand new (3 years ago) factory shift knob on top of it and it looks totally stock, until you shift with it! And there is a circlip that dampens the chatter that you are hearing with the B&M. Basically, the C's is the best if you want your stock shifter to be shorter, but dont wanna change anything else. At all. I love it, Glad you love yours too!

esperante, huh? Consider yourself lucky, I LOVE those cars...what, in stock trim they do something like 0-60 in 5.2 seconds? Nice, nice...

What kind of thief steals your shifter knob ultimately breaking it and leaves everything else (stereo etc). Now I need a new shifter.

luck is having been able to drive all of the cars below(results of knowing car gurus, racing guys, and rich car shop owners):

-lotus esprit twin-turbo V-8 1999 (overboosted to 430hp)-panoz esperante race cars-BMW Z8-2001 porshe 911 twin turbo AWD-Ferrari F355 convertible(easily my favorite. period.)-Dodge Viper(ugh. muscle car, suspension was mushy)-Acura NSX 1997, and a 1999(guys has 2. hah.)-2000 Bentley(the big assed one...I dont remember the name. it was cream white on cream white with 19" rims and a supercharged engine...****ing uber-pimp....)

anyways, Im missing a lamobrghini, aston matrin, etc...

hmmm...I think It'd be a close pick between the AWD twin turbo porsche (very partial to them) and the ferrari...I know the Porsche is faster stock...did you enjoy driving it? Where'd you take them to do this? Track?

oh the porshe was far faster, but the ferrari was..well..a ferrari. its an experience..it just felt more harmonious than the porshe...the porshe doesnt take skill or even a passion for driving to drive fast, the ferrari, well, it has a kind of soul...

I didnt really love ferraris until I drove that one, a yellow convertible 6-speed....

I drove the porshe with the owner around some local twisties, with a final highway run when he said "oh, you went to panoz racing school? you wanna drive my porshe? tell me what you think?"

that was great. the ferrari I drove after a car show when the guy cought me oogling it. I had to leave him my credit card and keys to my 300zx, but so what? it was great.

the others were driven form being a detailer, or test driven after doing work on them(the lotus guy, mark hill, wanted me to test it to 130 to make sure the yokohama AVS sports didnt vibrate at "highway" speeds.....yeesh.)

Lord, I wish people would treat me to rides like that! I wouldn't care if I couldn't drive it, I'd love to just have the honor in sitting in one! Do you mind my asking what you do for a living/how you got involved with all these exotic car-owners?

i used to do detailing for 2 car shops in atlanta, japanese motorsports, and wolfgangs import service.

after that, I knew racers/exoticar owners from the GA Z club(when I had my 300ZX), and also continues car detailing, and helped afew guys out with car show prep..since then its been working gor NTB, and working with a few local area car guys(who live in ST/ ives, ST. amrrlow, and sugar loaf, all 800k over houses) jaguars and sutff, and when they're happy(which they are :D I know most by first name, they call and go "hey chet, its eric! I need XXX for my jag..") some bring me things like the 911 turbo, or the lotus...

:)and there ya go. yeah I almost nutted myslef over the lotus twin turbo and ferrari F355.
