i recently bought an 89' hatch... since all i have done is put coilovers on it and put an s14 ka in it because the stock motor took a sh*t. im wanting to work on the body but first im trying to decide if i should keep the pig nose front or convert it to a type x.. obviously i realize that it is personal choice but i would like to hear if anyone knows advantages/disadvantages to this.. on a side note. where the F*ck do you find 180sx quarter winders?

I've seen 180sx rear windows on ebay, but have also heard of people having a hard time installing them.

The front bumpers is more of a personal choice although, people can argue that the type x front bumper has a bigger opening to allow more airflow. Personally, I like the Type X more than the Pignose.

i always kinda thought the pignose was a little ugly. but at the same time, if that was all i had, i probly wouldnt go through the hassle of changing it anytime soon.

I'm a die-hard chuki guy, but the pignose has grown on me alot lately. But the gotta mod it...

Cut out the bar thingie in the main opening and cut out that little divider between the two piggie nostrils. Add a piggy lip and the reinforcement to keep stuff from sagging and you're done. Someone photoshopped these mods to his piggy bumper and it was georgeous.

Far cheaper, easier and more unique than going Type X, IMO...

"pignose" bumper is the worst thing I have ever seen.

There is not a single reason that a person should EVER want it.

i never liked the pignose front, but it can look good. Theres that white hatch with work wheels everyone loves. Its got the pignose front, JDM OEM sideskirts, and type-x rear valance. That car looks good, search the best looking s13's ever thread for that one.

for the quarter windows they sell "180SX" stickers on ebay that cover up the "240SX" and they look legit. much cheaper and easier than swapping glass too.

those stickers are terrible. i tried them. when ever you go to wash the car, they want to peel off and up close you can tell they're stickers. i got my 180sx glass for free and paid $50 to have it installed.

don't go with type x, unless you're going to commit to doing all type x aero

What is this "baller" thing?I don't understand.

Isn't a type X bumper like $200?

The only thing nice about the Type X "collection" is the bumper. Just don't get those god awful skirts, wing, or rear valences. They don't flow at all imo but the bumper looks ok.

But still, I would go pignose. It's cheaper, easier, and looks better imo if you have a lip.

And btw, getting 180sx windows is a complete waste of money if yours are fine.

till u get the bumper, valences, skirts and wing

your looking at 700 at least

y spend that much on OEM areo, when you could just settle for what your car came with?

i just cant justify spendin the money i guess

i spent way more then 700. the skirts alone were 600, 200 for wing, 450 for taillights, 250 for valences, 100 for bumper, and then theres like another 200 in the bumper brackets, extensions and lights. that alone comes out to like $1800

$600 for skirts? that's nuts.

but 180sx kouki aero is the sh*t, so its justifiable.

dude, you're nuts. I think it all flows very well, i mean come on, its OEM aero made by Nissan. I think they know what they're doing.

If you've got the coin for the kouki front I see no reason at all for this question lol.

This is exactly what I want to do with my car, except I would prefer the zenki sideskirts. The kouki aero is a little too aggressive for my taste but some people make it look good.

Let me put this in a more "real world" example.

Saying that you LIKE the pignose bumper is the same as a really ugly kid saying "I like how I look".

You KNOW it's bulls***, but you still just deny it and try to see the positive.

The pignose owners just LIE to themselves because IF they were to admit the truth (the pignose is ugly as f***), they would just throw it away and get a better looking bumper.

So, if you want to stay true to yourself, throw that pignose bumper away as soon as possible.

I like the pignose bumper (with a lip) and I don't even have a pignose front. They can actually look quite nice.

when i was a pignose owner i HATED the bumper. sicne my new shell is pignose i got a free chukii bumper to rock until i throw on my type x aero which won't be until i get the whole thing painted

i installed a lip today.. makes me a little more comfortable having a pignose bumper.. i started researching other kits but i want to go with an old school look so im still having trouble deciding what looks retro and what looks new age.. im definately not sticking to OEM though.. i want a different look but with an s13 its hard to come by.
