I've been thinking the same thing... it all comes down to personal preference imo. A Type-X conversion costs some mad $cript$ and usually purchased on a piece-by-piece basis, plus shipping. If you got the dough, why not?

As for the 180sx quarter window conversion, it's a pain to source the parts and have a qualified technician install them for you- (again imo) Also should the windows leak, you'll be in a lot of trouble down the road... RUST! The 180sx stickers on ebay are an alternative but tend to peel after a while...

I was thinking of going chuki for now due to the lack of fund$... good luck with your PROject!

i didn't think of the window leaking and rust problem, but if you manage to find them pro install shouldn't be too bad. it cost me $50 to take the 180sx glass of one car and swap them with the stock pieces and vice versa

Saying that you LIKE the pignose bumper is the same as a really ugly kid saying "I like how I look".

You KNOW it's bulls***, but you still just deny it and try to see the positive.

The pignose owners just LIE to themselves because IF they were to admit the truth (the pignose is ugly as f***), they would just throw it away and get a better looking bumper.

So, if you want to stay true to yourself, throw that pignose bumper away as soon as possible.
ok that was probably on of the most ignorant statements i have read in a while....

it all comes down to personal preferance. i will only throw out my piggy when i get my silvia front. i love the pig.

no, they don't wonder that since they have pig bumpers in japan

actually , he is 100% correct, and ive felt that way about all pignose 240sx owners(most). whatever model they get first, s14 kouki, zenki, s13 hatch, coupe, chuki, pig, they feel that is the best one offered. the pig is and its just them dealing with the fact thats what they have and are rocking it proud. nothing wrong with that, but know your place.

I laugh at pignose haters, especially because the only 240sx that came with a halfway cool looking front bumper is the late model s14 with factory lip. Everything else is so-so (that can be made to look good with paint and lower stance). Who cares so much anyway, its just a bumper, first thing on your car that gets wrecked.

Yes, I'm saying all USDM front bumpers are not cool, except for maybe the late model s14 one, and only halfway so. I'm not including JDM choices here. Which of the factory US bumpers do you think looks better than late model S14?

Anyways, I dont think any of them look bad, just normal. But then again, im not anally retentive about this kind of stuff, its just a bumper. If you want a cool bumper, get it, dont hate on stock equipment.

1989 - 1990 bumpers - UGLY.1991-1994 bumpers - OKAY at best.1995-1996 bumpers - Somewhat okay.1997-1998 bumpers - Horrible.

***USA spec of course***

Body kits suck too... the only good stock bumper is a 1998 Japanese 180sx bumper with the lip spoiler.

my bumper is bh approved

i think its kinda funny though, that you rank the s14 zenki as the best (out of the US stock bumpers) are you sure you aren't doing that cuz you had a zenki?

Nope.

It's one of those things.... "the best of the s***ty situation".

All the US offered bumpers are terrible, but the LEAST terrible is the zenki s14 bumper. Of course, you have to modify it somewhat, but overall, it's the least horrible.

i see. for me personally i'd have to say the s14 kouki is the best stock US bumper followed by the s13 chuki bumper. the s14 zenki does nothing for me
