I want to do some streched wheels on my 240 but im unsure of what size tire and rim combo will look good streched. So if you have pictures and some info please post it. I know everyone doesnt like the streched look but to each there own i guess.

Here is an example of a extreme strech on a tire. I dont want to go this streched, just enough to get the rim flush without rubbing. I also would love to roll the fender out a little too. This is not a 240 though.

that is retarded. That car must be on some sort of air ride suspension. it would never move otherwise.

And tear that pretty tire up, look at the sidewall, no makrs, that thing has to be on bags.

The point of tire stretching in an ascetic and functional sense is to get the tire UNDER the fender, lol.

of course they are running on air suspension. They dont drive like that. Its just a pic I found that I posted up. I dont want to ride that close because I will have coilovers not Air.

BTW here is the most extreme I have ever saw.

these pictures are not what I am going for. I just want to be flush as possible with out my tire rubbing. I just posted these pictures as entertainment. Can someone post up their tire pictures on their 240 please.

Thanks

All i've seen so far is 'bagged show cars. Get some 17x9.5 and put some 23540zr17's on them, some Falken FK451's or 452's and i'm sure you'll get the look you're going for, i did.

Most people run with stretched tire out of necessity, because of the width of wheel they want to use and how low they want it.

Don't do it because itll look "dope".

Super bandwagon.

I'm really sorry, but in my opinion, everyone of those examples look really, really dumb and idiotic, completely non-functional and very dangerous! Don't be fooled in thinking this looks kewl cause it doesn't, it's just plain stupid.

Can't argue that it looks good when it's not done that extreme, but i agree.

Was I imagining things or did that S13 coupe look chopped? If so, niiiiiiiiiiiice. As far as the whole stretching thing goes, I would look at the max rim size for a given tire. All the manufacturers should have specs and recommendations. 17x9.5 with a 245/40 tire.

Yes, generally people who care about traction and not how JDM dorifto it looks have an appropriately sized rim (not the biggest thing they can stick in the wheel well even though they cant get a tire on it afterwards) with the tire a size or so larger than the recommended mid-point of the rim. I have 225/45's on 17x7's on my SE-R and some guys are trying to fit tires like that on 9 - 9.5" wide rims.

But hey, different stroke for different folks, that's just IMHO obviously. I just don't get it I guess.
