I guess I'll update this thread, a lot has happened since I last posted. I got new wheels, did some drifting, blew a head gasket, bought an engine, and then some. Unfortunately the new engine has a rod bearing issue, upon starting it up this was apparent. I bought it used with 25 miles on it, but it had been sitting for over a year. It has JE Pistons, AMS rods, Cometic HG, etc. I got a good deal on it, but it sucks having to pull it out again after spending all this time working on it.

This is when I blew the HG :(

Installing the new engine:

Results of starting the engine:

The "clack clack" on shut down is evident of the rod bearing having an issue. Next time I have a break from school I'll go home and pull the engine, bring it back with me, and re-do the bottom end with a fresh crank and new bearings.

I mentioned before I was adding some rear aero, finally got that on. It doesn't fit perfectly, I'll fix it before the car gets painted. This is an old picture when I was mocking it up, hence the 4-lug front wheels. It's on for good now.

Image

Engine has 550cc's and a z32 mafs, my new turbo is a Holset HX30, should be around 325whp once that's on.

And that's where I am right now. Thanks for looking!

I know! My car has been down since early June, and since I go to school in NC I'm rarely home even when my car is running. A few 240 I know from back home have mentioned your name, but it is odd that we haven't met yet haha.

also my friend has some of those valences i've been thinking about ganking for my hatch for a while (he has a coupe).....they really don't fit 100% either and i just don't get it.

I want to know what you do to get em to fit right so i can use them too lol, i hate bad fitment.
My b magic bumper fits perfect so...no reason to swp out for poor fitting body pieces.

Mine is a G-Grow rear, they're pretty hard to find stateside. It's made specifically for the hatchback, so yours might not fit if they were made for the coupe. It got here from Japan in 3 pieces, I've yet to fiberglass it back together, so fitment is still pretty bad. Here's a picture of one that fits how it's supposed to.

I try to make it to the C&C In Williamsburg, but I'm thinking of going to VA Beach instead. The winery location isn't all that great I think

Ah gotcha your valences are the real deal. Mine a different,th reason my friend doesn't use them is that they are for a hatch and they look the same from the side profile just they don't have the middle lip

That rear looks sex :bigthumb:

I really like the Starion wheels too, but they're only 16x8. The Hot Wheels are 17x9, and with a 225/45 I felt noticeably more grip up front at the track. I'm also not as low with the 17's, so I scrape on less things. I still have the Starions, so there's a chance they might go back on.

Been a while since my last post, and as usual a lot has happened since then. I thought about making a new thread, but I'll just continue to update this one since it's turned into a build thread of sorts. Engine is in and running, ended up using a totally different block. I also painted it, but this is a picture thread, so I'll stick to pictures. In chronological order:

OEM two tone, figured it'd be cool to see on a hatch. Bumper goes on soon, I need to finish wetsanding everything first. I have an overheating issue, not sure what's causing it. Hopefully it's not something with the engine, it has less than 1000 miles on it. In the mean time, I'll still be driving as many events as I can haha.

Thanks! A friend of mine did the painting, I did all the prep work though. I think it came out very well for being painted in a tent haha.

Drift event this weekend, I'm sure there will be some photos from that.

Thanks man! Good luck with your build, it's worth it to do it right the first time.

Yeah I never really made a build thread, so I'll continue updating this one when major changes take place.

I'll be putting the bumper on soon as well as finishing up wet sanding, I'll get my friend to take some pictures once it's all together.

Missed this the first time around, thanks dude! If only it was as clean as yours haha.

Did some drifting, had a radiator hose explode on me but got that taken care of and was able to drive home. Here are some pictures that have surfaced.

And of course, everyone's favorite sticker:

Car is down for a few weeks for some suspension bits. PBM knuckles with roll center correction and moar angle will go on before the next event, I'm excited to see how much of a difference the corrected suspension geometry makes. Thanks for viewing!

Slid again this past weekend, car handled very well. I had a coolant issue all day, but I was finally able to fix it after lunch and get some more seat time. PBM Pro knuckles are awesome, I had a lot more steering angle than I'm used to. I only spun out 2 or 3 times all day, and it was usually caused by my tires delaminating. Here are 2 pictures that have been posted up so far, I also had a friend follow me around and take video. Enjoy!
