Just curious, but what's that thing the engine is strapped to in this picture? What's preventing oil pan smoooshage? Did you two move that thing yourselves?

Man, I'm full of questions...nice pics, BTW.

the oil pan is tough as nails. i left a KA with all the accessories still on it balanced on our shop floor for a week. i was surprised that the pan held up.

Thats just some regular table I had sitting in my garage, turned out it was the perfect height for the transfer from the car. We just had the thing sitting on the oil pan actually... I was a little worried about it at first but thats how the guy I bought it from had it sitting also so what the hell. Didnt smoosh anything at all actually- maybe we were lucky.

LOL we TRIED to move the thing with just the two of us... we could lift the engine part but the transmission would drag behind and mess up the interior of the saturn. Ended up getting one more person on the transmission and we were able to pull it out. That thing is heavier than it looks!

That's good to know.

As far as the KA being heavy, it's somewhere around 450-500 lbs with the transmission, isn't it? That's a load for two people to handle.

Edit: It's pretty cool that you stuffed that thing in the back of a Saturn. Hey, that could have been the first mid-engine Saturn wagon ever! ;)

I think s14's had the chain guides eliminated so no guides in s14's as far as I'm concerned.
