The guy in the civic is ok, he was running r compounds on wet pavement, was only asking for trouble.
the rear shot, you guys can see my dtm muffler and shaved antena, nothing athetically special about my ride really.
track was a blast, but my car couldn't handle more than 3 laps on a dying clutch, crap *** OE brakes and 2 bald as an eagle tires on the rear. Was the most fun I have ever had in a car!!

LOL, you're funny 240gurl, I think the guys are trying to organise a small meet on the 27th, why don't you come out? Are you on the SON board?
There was more competition than what you see in the pic -
1. 89 Toyota Supra T (damn fast in the straights, was shooting flames out the y-pipe, but a bit of a slug in the turns)2. LOTSA Civics, one silver one that was heavily modified. Couldn't get any details, but that thing was mean!!3. Another heavily modified Honda, Prelude4. 99 Golf VR65. 2 Truenos (quick cars, handle real well)6. 2 Camry's, one 4 banger, one 67. ITR (shown in pic)8. IS300 (only did a couple laps, traction problems I believe)9. 3 S13's
What shows up at your events Ninja? This was my first, so I didn't know what to expect.
One thing I noticed, aside from one HB Civic with a type R sticker on the side, none of the cars were rice.

Aside from the early showers, it was a really good day to run on a course. My steering wheel, that many people will say is rice, really helped in the tight turns. Gotta replace my pedals, and practise my toe heel shifting for next year. Shifter was comfortable as well, I'm pretty happy with my mods, can't wait to have the car running mint and seeing how well it performs on the track. NEVER punk off a civic, they are very track worthy cars, despite that one guys misfortune.
More 240's would have made the event alot more fun, and unfortunately, not all the people at the event were welcoming the 240 show up. I think we represented OK considering 5 240 showed up and ran on the track in total, but I heard a few snickers of, "Get a turbo" under a few people's breathe. Funny, considering the only turbo car was the Supra, and the owner was a great guy, even helped a fellow 240 driver with a problem he was having with his clutch fan.
All in all, the people were great, course was fun and most people respected the fact that it was only a lapping event, so they weren't bullying or riding arse all day. Great learning experience, highly recomended to all.

yeah, the board seems to be down at the moment, its only a week or 2 old, still working out the kinks looks like. Where is St. Thomas? Draging is fun to watch, but no fun to drive really, for me at least. The twisties is where its at!!!

yeah k.town is where im at...haha i wonder whut club u went to? i dont dance weird...dont worry...(maybe to some people...)i was gona get an intake...but i dunno...its not really gona raise my hp by too much but i do like the sound difference im still thinking about it ....tell me about this home made intake..... i have exhaust on it...im gona get some rims in the summer...and a spoiler yeah markam's not that far at all give me info on the weekly meets okay?

240gurl, I'm actually in the process of building an extension for my air filter, I want to extend it into the front bumper of my vehicle, instead of sitting in the engine bay. I haven't really begun yet, although I know exactly what i am going to do, I kinda hacked up my air filter so I may need a new one to prevent water from getting into the throttle body. If I sell it, I'll let you know. Parts for my extension were all purchased at home depot for about $20
Air intake was not very costly at all-
$25 for adapter (although I heard people making their own adapters from home depot materials, you may be able to cut this cost, I can ask around and see how its done). $25 isn't too bad, and the piece I got is nice, fits snug, worth the cash IMO.
$40 for a 3" cone style intake - I used a generic filter, looks great, makes noise I'm sure, but it is muffled by my muffler. Can get a smaller one for $25-$35
$65 total, took me about an hour and a half to install, I didn't realise i had to extend the temp. sensor, so thats why it took so long. I can install one now in under an hour.
Parts were all ordered at Pacific mall, right around the corner from my place. You can probably get them cheaper if you order online or shop around, but I liked the convenience of pac mall. I don't really believe in spending $400 for 4HP, although shiny metal pipes do look nice in the engine bay, not worth it IMO.
Hey, come to think of it, there are usually meets every Wednesday at Leslie and York Mills. Its actually a Civic si club meet, but us 240 guys crash their party and hang out with them. I think they get intimidated by the 240, nothing but attitude, but i just mingle with the Nissan dudes, so I could care less what is being said under their breathes. I'll put up a post and see if any of the boys are going tonight, I only went once, but wouldn't mind swinging by to share my experience at the track with the fellas (and lady hopefully). There were alot of civics out on the track, some of which are probably part of this club.
I'll be the judge of whether you can dance or not! :P j/k, you really don't wanna see twinkle toes (your truly) on the dance floor after a few good ol' Canadian beers!!!

p.s. - I like the no spoiler look personally. Give me some details on your ride (year) and I'll let you know if i have parts for you.
