I am headed out to Speed World March 8th at about 7pm for some drag racing. I have Kumho V710 track tires that I'm going to try out on the rear. I have never been able to do a full throttle lauch at the track. I'm hoping these track tires will be sticky enough for me to do a full throttle launch.

My car is running 14.0's with my current launch stratagy so high 13's may be in my future!

Jeff

Yeah I'd love to run against you a couple times! It would be more fun to have a couple G35 sedans cleaning up the 14 second bracket!

There are a ton of import 4 and 6's and things like the Mustang GT, Charger RT that run low mid 14's that you will spank with your G if you can hook up off the line.

There are a ton of V8 real muscle cars SS Camaro's WS6 Firebirds and SRT-8 DC's that run mid high 13's that will spank you but will be surprised when your still at their rear fender until the 1/8th mile when torque takes over.

Then there are the highly modified crazy fast cars like the WRX STI's and old muscle cars with no hood and a blower that will run low 13's high 12's. Don't bother racing them you'll never see them again after the light turns green.

If you can figure out a way to get them I'll loan you a set of track tires for the rear. I can just barely fit a set in my trunk with a jack to swap them.

I'm planning on leaving my house around 6 pm should be at the track 6:45 for tech inspection.

Are you still coming David? Can't wait to see how you run!

If the weather is anything like this weekend we should be running very low 14's high 13's.

I'm still in! Let me know if Tyler wants to hitch a ride with me and we'll carpool. What's the entry fee for this? Can't wait!

$20 to race $10 to watch. If you pay to race you can do both.

I'll let you know if Tyler gets a kitchen pass

I'll have Tyler or Dave shoot video of me killing a current body Mustang GT for you RN79870!

One of my Hemi buddies is coming for sure. He has a 4 door ram and just installed a custom grind cam. I'm betting he will be in the low 14's too.

I should be able to sneak out for a while, Jeff.

Curious to see what my Coupe will run, but I only have R-compound tires on my race wheels.

AWESOME!I was hoping to meet you sooner or later!

Traction is the biggest issue. What works best with my G is full throttle to pop up the front end and then let up slightly for wheel spin and floor it again. If you get it right you can get out of the hole pretty quickly.

I'm hoping the Kumho V710's have enough bite to leave at full throttle without letting up. I may even try a brake stall start at 2,000 RPM +

The 07's will only let you do a brake stall burn out for about 10 seconds and then VDC kills the fun so I'll probably have to burn the tires twice to get them hot enough to be sticky.

Well, I'm 6MT, so none of that's gonna apply for me!

Yep - I'm looking for a good reason to upgrade!

Let me figure out what I'm gonna do for drag wheels (my 20's are too heavy) and I'll do my damnedest to be there!

I'll be removing my Stock 235/45/17 Kumho SPT's to install the 275/40/17 Kumho V710's

Your welcome to run on my SPT's? They have to be faster then 20's

If you want to swing by my house (Tolleson 83rd ave + Buckeye) before you go out to the track you can pick up a set of Kumho V710's to try out. I can just barely haul a set in the trunk of my sedan.

talked to my Hemi Ram buddy tonight and he may not come. Since he installed that custom grind cam his truck it will not stay started at idle. Air fuel is hovering around 15ish. He put it on a dyno and only made 303 rwhp.

He is putting in SRT-8 injectors tomorrow to see if he can get enough fuel in the motor but if it doesn't work he is out.

Tyler is also out, he had plans with his wife he forgot about

Greg and David,

Are you guys still in for racing at Speedworld?

I feel like today so I'm ditching work so I can lay in bed and drink NyQuil all day. I'm still going to the track even if my wife has to drive me down there. But I probably won't close down the track at 1 am like I usually do.

David will you do me a small favor and loan me your spare tire ? I think I know how to get a 13 second slip

LOL - are you thinking of running the donuts in the front?

I'm about 50% at this point, since I'm having trouble finding wheels... I may borrow back my 18's for the front and run my R-compounds in the rear on my track wheels.

Not so much thinking more planning on doing it. It would be a last ditch effort on my last run down the track. I am so tired of 14.0's!
