What we did with Fezzik's 2k2 is extend the O2 harness wiring and have 2 bungs installed after the Cat.

You will need a dual-output simulator. You will "tap in" at the engine-side connections (green and blue connections in front of the motor).
since my maxima is a fed. spec, do i also need an o2 sim? im not familiar at all with these types of things so any help would be appreciated. i understand his max was a cali spec but i know the fed specs are different for emissions. when i install, will i have the same problems with the o2 sensors and the CEL??? if so, i will need to get one of those simulators???

I wouldn't think you would have the same problems I have, since you only have two, and you have two O2 sensor ports on your Y-pipe.

This is what I have hooked up, should it be the other two???

Both of those relate to "O2 Sensor heater Circuit malfunction"

The connections for the simulator to "tap into" are the two on the left.

Going forward, any members who use the '00-01 headers on a 2k2-2k3 Maxima should spend a couple bux to have two additional bungs added to the exhaust for the other two sensors. Makes life easier.

This may have been tried already but I just had the thought. I have an SE so I don't have to worry about the speed limiter... I know on the 240sx the automatic is not limited so if you use an Auto ECU in a 5spd 240sx it will not cut at the normal 118mph.. I wonder if it would be the same for the Maxima only instead of the Auto ECU swap for the SE ECU.

Probably too simple to work but I thought I would suggest just to see if anyone has tried it.

BTW, Headers and Y-Pipe look good.. I want some! I think my car already has an aftermarket Y-Pipe but the place where I got my exhaust redone welded EVERYTHING together so I can't take it off..

Wow, I didn't see the pictures when I was in here last. Lookin' good! Can't wait to lower mine. I have 19's and the wheel gap is still atrotious (sp?) They also have 35 series tires too so that doesn't help any.

Yep, I helped install headers on a 3.5 - not a really fun job.

can you give me any advice or info that would make things easier for me when i attempt my install? im tired of waiting for my install guy and i REALLY want my headers and y-pipe on as soon as possible without having to pay out the azz for an install job. also, do you have any suggestions for installing my udp or sway bar???

Like scott said, header installs are a pain. If you're trying to get your stuff installed before NOPI, (I personally)I'd just install the Y-pipe and sway bar...those won't take nearly as long to get on your car.

If you have a Addco or Progress style RSB, you can use my writeup for it..http://www.moodym.com/maxima/tech/addcorsb.html
