Looks dope man, I dont like the LEDs on that spot but that's just my opinion... other than that the vents are perfec & the engine bay's definitely clean as well... I wouldnt do that because I dont care much for those plastics but it's definitely clean.

Thanks guys

I'm hoping to get better pics at Chris's BBQ this Sat.

I'm sure someone will have a better camera than what I have.

I had to replace the oem battery and I just got 4 chrome spike nuts that I'll be installing now to hold the center eng cover down. The acorn nuts are just to small and really can't be seen.

At a later date I will be getting the center eng cover detailed with some light air-brushing.

The leds hidden in the fenders are very bright and look great at night. I feel like I won't miss a turn signal from now on. :lolling:

I almost ordered a 1pc front splitter for the aero lip but I didn't because I need to see how the car will sit with the coilovers first.

other mods will have to wait as my pockets are now empty. :frown:

replace subwoofer in oem location & get Uprev (I just don't know when).

Thanks to everyone for the comments, email & PM's.

I really can't tell you how bright the leds in the fenders are but just to give you an idea the light flashes past the rear bumper.

As for the fenders I designed one of them on the right fender with a grease pencil. All they had to do was cut on the line. Then they made a template (copy) for the left side.

Then they filled the empty space with sheet metal. The most out lip has an added metal bar to make it stronger. When everything was welded it was time to design the shape of the cut out.

After paint we installed the leds and the mesh.

I wanted to keep the style with the side marker on the fender so it was best to hide them. I really didn't like the mirror covers with the leds on them. 2nd the color of the leds on the mirror are yellow. All the leds on my car are white even the rear turn signal.

All in all I'm happy and I know it's going to take a few weeks to really finish & clean the car really good.

Now it's time to enjoy her. :yesnod

thanks, Freddie

I like the engine compartment but on the fence on the other stuff. If you had a M56 and a new Infiniti supercharger than I would justify the slits. When my brother let me drive his CLK63 Black series and really did not like the the look either until I was told that it was there for a purpose. Then when we took it to the track I realized why air is so important to keep the brakes/engine cooled. After about an hour the front end was so hot it illuminated.

You must have me confused with someone else.

I'm not trading-in my M45 for a new M56 and then throw a superchager on it just to justify a set of fender vents. :nono: No fender vents are worth +$70k

I don't have that kinda of money to throw around. I'll sit back and wait for you to go do it. My money tree in the back yard has died. :rotfl

My M45 is a daily driver/family car and in no way it's a racing car, it will never see a track unless I'm parked on it. I'm happy with the 250 hp it has to the rear wheels. I love the extra space that it has for the family.

Now if I did have the money and a 2nd car to lug the family around than yes I would love to transform my car into the VIP style.

As for the fender vents, in the near future I will try to make them fuctional. My plan is to make a cut out and install a flexible tube behind the headlight so that hot air from the eng bay will makes it's way thru the fender and out the fender vent. How much air will flow out? I don't know but any hot air removed from the eng bay is a plus as we all know the M45 runs really hot.

So what if they're not functional? People throw BBKs on 160 HP Scions ... I'm over that already, it's for looks!!! & this looks good...

Thanks but I haven't driven the car at night yet but those that have seen them while I was washing the car loved them.

Yeah an M meet is needed. Maybe we can plan one before winter and I will try to bring some MD people with me. There's 4-6 of us mainly 3 that would most likely make it. Car looks good by the way. I wouldn't mind the vents on my car but I would make the vent longer towards the sideskirt or even a double vent since 2 M's now have this style in the US.
