What do you think of Panera Bread?

Its horrible. I've never had anything good there and I can't fathom why anybody likes it.

It seems as though Panera Bread is quite polarizing. I hate that damn place, Torry seems to love it, or he's just sticking to one side just to piss me off.

Anyway, vote it up NICO. Do you hate Panera like I do and cringe any time anyone says they want to meet up there, or go to lunch there?

dude I can't even really remember my FIRST girlfriend in HS. The notable one really wasn't bad though.

Yeah, she was a pretty good time!

Anyway, she was certainly much better than Panera, although ironically and oddly enough, she might have been the first one to ever bring me to one.

I'm not saying there isn't better places, I'm just saying it's pretty damn good. I think most people would agree. James is just weird.

Until you post an ex girlfriend giving a boob grab, I'm still winning this thread.

REALLY? Do they have them in Deutschland too? I don't recall ever seeing them over there, but Joe 6-pack's Brot shop in the D blew Panera out of the water any day of the week.

their enchilada soup is really good. I never went there until my girlfriend wanted to go one day. It's not the best place in the world, but they are in my top choices for something moderately healthy and quick

Their panini's are good (does that make me gay?) But its usually a place where large amounts of hipsters like to gather.

I grab my chicken frontega and gtfo.

Being a carbavore I have no problem with Panera. 1/2 sandwich, bread bowl with a baguette for the bread trifecta. I do agree with you guys it gets a little pricey. However I can't think of any chain restaurants in my area that compare with heathy semi-fast food and an alternative to greasy a** mc d's

I don't think it's so much that their food is bad, I just think they have a crappy menu. I'm just not a big fan of soup and salad." Yeah, sure, I enjoy both, but would never go out of my way to go to a restaurant that specializes in that. Too hipster and healthy for me.... Panera reminds me of a Starbucks with actual food.

If you've ever met me I'm skinny as hell though, but you'd never see me going to Panera if there's a KFC down the street... Calorie counting is for fat people that can't resist food, in my opinion of course. :)

I love subway for what it is but Panera is on another level. Subway has bread from frozen dough and your run of the mill lunch meats. Not sure if paneras bread is from frozen dough but in comparison to subways it wins. In high school I worked there. Proofed, scored, and baked a lot of bread back in the day. To this day i detest their herb and cheese bread. The stink would resonate in your clothes. They offered a free sub with break and working 5 days a week for a year I had my share of subs. Never really got tired of them. The combinations were endless.

Panera isn't bad, but it's a bit overpriced. Personally I prefer Atlanta Bread Company over Panera for the same money. Usually i'd just prefer a real deli, Subway, or Firehouse Subs.

There's this awesome place in Louisville called Frank's that has the greatest sandwiches i've ever had. Little hole in the wall grocery store and they pile so much on the sandwich, it's ridiculous.

When I worked security for a large corporation's headquarters it seemed liked they had a Panera delivery every 15 minutes.
Many times they ordered way too much and they would send some our way. Most of it was inedible, and I love food, I'll try most things with an open mind. They had this one turkey bacon sandwich on some fancy artisan bread and OMG it was AMAZING. The bread complimented the turkey and the bacon added a little salty kick to what was a low sodium turkey.

One day I got curious and decided to look at the menu, I nearly s*** my pants. Those little turkey bacon sandwiches were like $6 each, it usually took me about 3 of them to satisfy my hunger and I could easily eat 5 of them in one sitting... there small little things. $6 each. Let alone 90% of the menu was inedible. Also at the time they sold 4 chocolate-chip cookies for $8. From that day on I started looking at the delivery receipts while shaking my head. A small accounting department consisting of 13 people spending nearly $325 for artisan sandwiches, drinks, and desserts. This happened 4 times a week and that was only one of many departments ordering Panera.

I was fortunate enough to do Pest Control for awhile, or unfortunate depending on your view. Bread companies are nasty to the 10th power behind those closed doors. Major bug haven. ABC is not clean, you've been warned. I did a commercial joint that serviced 90% of Tucson, I quit eating bread in AZ. If the bread is baked on site and the place is clean, like most small bakeries, you're good to go. If the bread is outsourced, chances are you're eating bugs or bug s*** with every bite.

Ignorance truly is bliss sometimes.

PANERA BREAD Image

Places i have eaten, and it tasted better than panera bread:
1.ARMY - MRE's are kick a** compared to the over salted crap served at panera bread.
2. JAILS - with the piss-poor quality of ford crown victoria's, me and my partners often had to sleep over night at certain jail across the country, while the POS was being repaired lol. the free stay came with a free bologna sandwich, my choice of skim/while/coco milk, and a nasty warm salad. lololol
3. FLIGHTS - seems the food on the planes today is even better than panera bread.
4. MY GIRLS COOKING - .... what a minute, never-mind. lol :lolling:

They do make a mean bread bowl. Place is a bit pricey IMO.
