how bad is the q? is it movable? Transport companies dock you alot more money if the car doesn't run. another way would to be rent a uhauleither, a full car trailer, a half trailer( rear wheels roll along) , or a u haul truck with the ramps that allow you tow put the car almost compleltely on top.

Fred getting his 5th Q must be close to some kind of record, at least for non-lease drivers. Probably less than 5 or 10 people in this country can say that.Anyone have any tips for dealing with insurance companies to get off the lowball? What do they really look at? Does it matter that oil changes were done with synthetics? Do they care if you just spent $2000 on brand new suspension components?

yah , waiting till i can move back to florida , will be relesed from the military around april 26th , so since i have so short of a ammount of time i decided i would wait untill i was back in florida to find a new ride , like i say more than likely a p-10 chassis G20 , slim chances that i will flip another one so im not as concered about roll over protection anymore and i have all this stuff for one ($2900 in parts) . that and i dont want to invest in another car untill im out of alaska , this place is way to hard on stuff and the stuff up here isnt of the best quality ,and hasnt been taken care of ...

that and i dont want the military involved with my decision in buying a car , they claim they will punish me further if i get something that can conciveably go fast , little do they know i can make anything fast , so yes im also waiting till im no longer USAF property , lets hope bush doesnt inact the "Stop Loss" again ...

sorry plamer didnt mean to hijack your thread brotha

i went in with a list and rescripts of what all was on it at the time of the crash , allstate took this into account and gave me the extra for the autostart, speakers and other little things that were in it bring it in 1k over blue book from kelly (exactly 200 over NADA) , didnt have to fight at all on the value of the car. They even had to enther some of the parts on it ont here computer as they wenrent listed modifications on the allstate computer to give values for the replcemnt of the car in its conditions and state of tune , i was not carrying special insureance for a modifired car either , i dont think they would have remburesed me for the turbo tho (if it was on it at the time) , but who knows

if they just give the value of the car i would sugest buying it back , the price for the parts/totaled car would be greatly less than the suspesion bits that are in it , i didnt try to buy the G20 back at the time so i dont know how involved this is

Holy ****!! I can't believe I missed all this!

It's painful to hear your car went out like that but I'm glad your doing okay buddy. Had I known about this when it happened, I wouldn't have hesitated to scoop you up and bring ya back home. Only problem is, my Q's a goner right now too...

Since you're in need of another Q, I have two I need to get rid of. One's a black '92 with TCS and the other is of course, the pearl white active suspension recently converted to conventional struts. The black one isn't in the greatest shape. I recently stated that it was totalled but it's not in bad shape at all, just a slightly dinged rear quarter panel and a bad diff. The pearl white one is in great shape with just some slight rusting at the passenger side rear wheel well AND I don't have an ECU to start the car. I'll post up some pics here later today for everyone to see.

Now as for the vehicle shipping. Check out American Auto Transporters Inc. Their office number is 1-800-800-2580. They shipped me my Datsun 240Z all the way from Texas for $700.

Wish you the best!

Yup! Fred got a 1985 Volvo 244 GL. 199,000 miles, four speed manual. Silver over black. No leaks that I could see, everythihg works except for the left brake light. It's loud. It's slow. It's not much to look at, but it runs! Should easily meet Fred's transportation needs until he gets another Q.

Yo Freak are ya under the influence abit or what. Volvo's suck IMO but that's me. Might as well take the bus to avoid enbarassment or the walk of shame when your car breaks down.

Boy do they... former Buick Skyhawk owner. Or rather, it owned me and my wallet from being in the shop broken down all the time.

and...

I have to agree with FrEak and slw240sx on the old Volvo's. If there is one thing they have it's character. I too like a lot of them, especially the wagons. I know a lady that used to have an early 70's (don't know the model number, it was a 200-something) wagon...in orange!! They purchased it new and had well over 350,000 miles on it and it ran flawlessly. It was the ONLY one around and I wanted it so bad! Then it was totalled when they hit a deer with it. :(
