painting stock rims?

does anyone have any experience in painting the stock rims on a R50? i'm interested in painting them black, just wondering if anyone has done this/seen this done before, and i just want some opinions on it. any help would be appreciated

i guess i broke the #1 rule in forums and didnt search well enough haha
well, what are everyone's opinions on the black stock rims? yes, no?

I dont know what wheels you have, but if its the double tri stars....I dont care for them black. Slickroger made a thread about it, and not to bash they just did not look right to me. I basically did the same process with a few different steps. I painted my wheels graphite btw, looks great to me :dblthumb:

-I used a can or aerosol paint stripper to get the old paint off the wheel, its alot faster than sanding down the wheels by hand with sand paper, and time effective. After 2 cans of that stuff you should be golden. Just dont get that stuff on your skin it burns like a MOFO :lolling:

-I did not use a primer. When you read the duplicolor wheel paint can, it says nothing about using a primer just to bring it down to bare metal.

-I have had good results with the paint and its holding up great. I have noticed a few spots where the clear coat is a bit thin but I will take them off and wetsand and re clear them if I get the time and money to do so. Here are some pics of my job
