Painting Engine Cover

What did you do so far? whats the paints you are using?

i used krylon fusion primer, then so far have 4 coats of silver as the first coat, tonight ill prolly wet sand it then mask off some stuff, then the next coat will be matched to the color of my car (got the paint last night), then clear

you dont need high temp paint, i drove around hard for over an hour, popped the hood and put my whole hand on the cover and it was barly warm

So does that mean i can use ANY type of paint i like? Ill go wild with the paint if i know it can handle it!

ya id go for it, i did alot of research of various other car forums that have plastic covers and they were all doing whatever they wanted cuz the plastic wouldnt get hot enough. i put my whole hand down on it right after a long drive, and it had barly gotten warm.

ohhh baby... now we are off to find some candy apple red metallic paint!Ok heres my thoughts... i think that 4oz will be enough to lay down the KnightRider text.... so im looking for black and red... open to sugguestions though...

Alsa paint is what im looking at... and the reds are nice... whats your preferences guys.. Blood red

Phoenix red Then they have these crazer things... color changing or marble style...

The color schemes out there are insane! I just think that black with the red knight rider will be the best fit though... sugguestions??

forgot to update this, i finished mine, just gotta put the emblem back in. the overspray on the silver parts is not a mistake, i was trying to get a textured metal look. the rest is color matched to the dark slate
