The only thing i would note is after putting the decal on the caliper i covered it with high temp clear coat to ensure the decal would not come off due to repeated washing or weather.

Plus it would protect the lettering from discoloration

again, very nice!
Send an email to this address: [email protected] . I got it on eBay, but he doesn't always have it going. Make sure you get the reflective ones, as they look cool at night as well. Decals went on after the 4 or 5 coats of red. Then 3 coats of the Duplicolor Clear Engine Enamel (high temp) went on after the decals to ensure they didn't peel and last a long time. The clear coat obviously protects the caliper paint as well. There is only one red, it's called "Real Red" when you get the VHT caliper paint.

I'm going to have to agree with fiveliterbeater on this one. Whenever I see red painted calipers I associate that with some poor guy who can't afford to buy the real Brembo's. I'm not opposed to painting the calipers black or bright silver so they look OEM but a flashy red, blue, yellow, gold etc doesn't go unless it's the real deal.

But to each his own BTW I recall seeing something hilarious for sale on ebay. Take a look here http://cgi.ebay.ca/Red-Brembo-...e772c

I went to the site listed above and went to the Infiniti section: http://www.xenonmods.com/xenonmods_infiniti_items.htm

I want silver reflective ones - the pull down has a choice for "Back ref/Silver" - which one is it? black or silver...or both?

Can any of you confirm on what this decal pack actually includes color wise? I emailed the guy over a week ago and no reply...

*EDIT - F-it....just bought them anyways...i am guessing its a combination of both black and silver.

PangPang nice job on the calipers. I agree with Antzrus regardingt he color combinations. There is so much wheel with 18's i think the white on red is a nice look. I also like the look on blfolson M with the crome sport wheels.

i like it a lot but i too woul dhave gone with a different color, my M is blue so the red would go with nothing. since i am in the process of installing new rotors, eibach springs, and hawk pads i will have to check on the logos myself real soon. i will mos tlikely go with a black or dark blue and paint the rotors also the part that the brake pads do not touch. i like it a very cheap alternative to the BBK.

Mine will stay the same color called "Slightly Used Looking"! I dont have time for all that painting stuff. The quality of the brake pads and rotors are my concern.

here are my calipers / rotors painted (sorry for crappy quality - phone was used).
I went black calipers and left the inside the polished aluminum look. the Inside of the rotors/outside lip was also painted. I was going to put silver decals on the calipers but unfortunately the guy did not send them in time, I will add them at a later date.

Looks really nice man. This is on my short list of things to do to mine. Did you just take off the wheels and then tape things off or did you take off the calipers/rotors etc? Was it difficult and how long did it take?

We actually didn't mask anything off at all...
I used a steel brush thoroughly on the caliper, inside and outside ring of the rotor. Sprayed CRC cleaner all over the brushed areas and let it evaporate. Then I took a rag and went over all of the cleaned areas with prep-sol. We then mixed up some paint with a catalyst in it and we BRUSHED the black on (no primer applied). I was kinda dumbfounded myself when we first started, but my dad has done this so many times with lasting results - I didn't question. The reason the brush works well is because all of the surfaces are a rough finish anyways, so the brush strokes cannot be seen if it is applied evenly. Tried to keep it on target as much as possible, and anything that wasn't we removed with a rag and paint thinner. To get the inside of the caliper the polished aluminum look, I used cue-tips and paint thinner very slowly and carefully. I basically traced the inside of it and removed all of the "over spray".

We did the front with the HID upgrade and it took an entire day start to finish, with pulling all the panels, running wires, heat shrink etc. This was also the first time that myself or my dad had worked on the car, so the learning curve slowed us down a bit. The next day we did the rear calipers in about 2-3 hours. So once you get in there and do the first I am guessing you can do all 4 in about 4-6 hours. I took an extra 2 hours or so to clean the front and backs of my rims thoroughly.

hope this helps....let me know if you have any more questions.
