I got this earlier this week. It's awesome, I do agree that it is not for beginners. The Ab work outs are brutal.

It does feel good to get through the tough sessions. "Do your best, forget the rest!"

they have a P90x plus http://www.extremely-fit.com/p90x-plus.html

+1 - even for advanced lifters, not everything should be done ISO - there is a lot of benefit to be gained from compound workouts and complex motions.
Tony Horton knows his s***.

Good luck to you & the gf with the p90x. I started with his 10-Minute Trainer which was great because of the superstacking workouts. I am in decent shape, but my endurance is kinda crap when it comes to 2 hr workouts. With the 10-Minute Trainer, you get a full body workout in 20-30 minutes. I didn't believe it at first, but it yielded better results than the gym & I went down a pant size in 10 days. The resistance band is the best tool ever invented.

If either of you find the 90 too challenging to tackle at first, I recommend his 10-Minute Trainer. Great results, less advanced.

And that's my 2 cents.

As for eating, that's my weak point. I eat fast food constantly. Taco Bell, In N' Out, Sonic, QT taquitos and such. I'm still in great shape, but only because I have the metabolism of a facking God. But I know that if I really wanna get in great shape and get bigger and more ripped, I need to change that.

I'm starting my diet plan today actually. Chicken, fish, various nuts, salads, whole wheat bread, celery and a lot of other stuff.
Dude hit the gym,I like to get tone but I'm also pretty strong.I alternate the workouts. Here's my work out plansEvery other week is a power lifting weekMonday-back/shouldersTuesday-bicep/tricepWednesday-legsthursday-absfriday-day off
