I started another thread on adding a aftermarket transmission cooler on my 97 Q45. zerothread/274758 I used a cooler off of a 90's Explorer. Well, I just bought another Q and while at the junkyard pciked up a cooler for this as well as several more-for you! Not only did I get the cooler, I've assembled a package with everything you need as well as instructions and pictures. It includes:-transmission Cooler-Correct length lines-Clamps-Bracket -instructions-pictures

The advantages of this cooler install is that it fits almost perfectly, it does require some trimming of the plastic shield that covers the horns and requires a hole to be drilled to route the line but other than those two mods this drops right in-literally. The cooler used is from 4.0 V6 4 wheel drive Explorers with the towing package. This cooler is the stacked plate design and I'm almost certain is actually an unbadged B&M. The part number on it was almost identical to a B&M that I bough for my wife's Volvo. $75 shipped to your door.

Not bad. Mesurements would be a nice way to compare it's cooling capacity to B&M70268 and 70264 used by most on this board.

11" wide, 7 1/2" tall, 3/4" wide. I really think its the B&M 70268 repackaged.

Andy, you really crack me up!

I've read this thread 3 times now, and each time I thought "Damn, I should hit Andy up and grab that."

The third time I bookmarked it, because I just don't have much cash right now. Foreclosure looming so unfortunately, priorities, priorities.

Uncanny though! Hold on to a set for me if you don't need the money

I am tempted to buy one but I live in a very cool part of the country and I'm sort of scared of cutting into radiators and stuff. You assure me this is 100% good to go. I will have to pay an installer as I do not do any repairs myself, is there a benefit when I rarely drive the car in temps over 80?

The radiator is not harmed at all. One stock transmission cooler hose is removed and can be saved for return to stock if desired. Other than that, all that's needed is to drill one hole, make another bigger and trim the plastic horn cover.

As to the temp, any tempearture over 170-180 degrees is bad for a transmission.

Come on, start a trend.
