So that you don't feel like you have gone mad, I'll listen and even speak to you!

It is nice to get a confirmation that 16" wheels clear the Y34 brakes. How much clearance is there? Are you really close, or is there plenty of room left?

Gotta love the lower prices of 16" wheels/tires for winter use...

Sorry! Don't mean to make you feel bad ... usually, the lack of an answer tends to be because people don't have a clue about it.

FWIW, I am surprised that you got a 16" wheel to fit, but that is fine. I have to admit that I probably would not even have attempted it - by just getting a 17" used set of OEM wheels from a G35 perhaps.

Yeah it would have been nice to have 17s from a G on there, but time and cost was in the way. I needed to get the winter tires on there before all the passes turned to ice here in oregon (living at the coast is usually not a problem except for a few times a winter, but I need to get over the coast range on a frequent basis, and even though the pass at 700' above sea level, you would be surprised how often it ices up, especially at night). And I couldn't pass up the staggered altima 16s for $100 (total).

If I remember correctly, tyamto, the clearance was about 3/4". It might have been as much as a full inch. It was definitely more than 1/2".
