Yeah there Boss 301 20's. Sold em for $1000 with pretty beat rubber

And about the guy that asked what happened to the stereo when I flipped it, I actually had a smaller box (still huge @ 9 cubes) that wasnt bolted down and it broke the **** out of all my rear plastics when it was flipping around....

I rolled it being an idiot in the rain, drifting a series of s bends (cuz we know the qx4 can mad drift lol) just kinda lost control and there was no ditch or shoulder, just a small ditch like a foot wide and foot deep, my front tire caught that and just flipped so damn fast I didnt even see it comin. I thought I was gonna roll peacefull through the field lol

I think I got a pic of the stereo damage form when I rolled it Ill check

This is the stereo that was in it when it rolled

This is the best pic I took at the scene I guess of the stereo damage, still blingin....

Worked just fine afterwards, just wanted bigger, I think Ive had about 10 stereos in it in the 2 years Ive owned it. I just get bored lol.

And about the new stereos power draw. I ran a Visonik VX4000D at first on the stock alt for about a day lol, it low volted the amp and fried it, so Ive currently got a 250amp mechman external regulated alt.

Thinkin of changin it to a smaller setup shortly though, I need my trunk in the summer. This was just for fun. I'll see if I can post up a sweet video of what it did to my roof and such.

Thanks, I like them, too.

$100 on CL with good tires (I sold those to a coworker for $40 so net $60!). I bought some studded snow tires and that's what I rock in the winter. The thing is damn near unstoppable.

Its LOUD dude, I have the subs turned down to -12 on the deck and the gains almost off, and it still overpowers my 8 6.5" amped components which are already deafeningly loud. Switching to a smaller build within 2 weeks, just going through box designs right now wen I get some time

you really seem to know your stuff WOT. About alternators....ive heard people say you can blow your stock alternator with aftermarket subs? I have a boss 1500w (yea right) amp hooked to two 10"clarions.......i dont go max volume, at most i do 75%....do you think ill blow my alt? I can see some dimming on my LED maplights, it concerns me, i might get a capacitor

No man your fine with OEM alt. I ran 2000 watts rms off the stock 110amp (dunno what ur alt is rated at) and was fine. You wont blow it with the 700-800rms that amp is pushing.

First things, a capacitor is garbage, never think of buying one again, other than the digital voltage output, there useless.

If you wanna get rid of that dimming, a nice battery (I always use optima blue tops) and the big 3 will work wonders.

The big 3 is simply 3 wires. Upgrading your voltage supply and discharge. -battery ground -> chassis-engine ground -> chassis-alt power wire -> positive battery terminal

From factory those wires are about equivavlent of 8gauge, I upgraded mine with 2 gauge and the dimming was non existant.

Also, if your actually gonna do it, dont REPLACE the factory grounds, just simply add the new wires and keep the stockers to.

The ground spots are really easy on our cars, its the alt power -> battery thats kinda tricky, but thats the one that will make the most difference, keeping it away from ur engine obviously. I chose to not fuse mine

That is.....INSANE! What kind of subs are those and what amps are you powering them with?

Do you do any DB Competitions or SPL competitions?

The subs are made by a company called Audioque, he started real small (audioque.com) but hes line is really blowing up on the forums, cause they take alot of power and put up some great numbers. That setup there was run by 2 Visonik VX4000D's @ 2ohm

And no I dont do any competitions, dont really like the competition side of the audio world, but the one I attended originally to spectate at east hamilton radio, out of 75ish cars that all had pretty wild setups, even a few vans. I scored higher than all of them (156.4db) and a 148.8 in bassrace.

I would have won the whole event, but I wasnt registerred

Its just fun for me

Ive actually never once seen them here .. yet

CVR's are pretty descent for output, I ran 8 10's sealed in my crx and they got prety loud. Tried 1 15" ported since I got it used for free, but it burned up pretty quick
