Alright, things are moving along and I had a moment to get back into it.

This car is rusty as hell. Living on a small island a mile from the ocean is abusive. Today's work, finish ripping bits off the front so I can get in there with a wire brush and scrub it down.

I have two shades of rust, brown and white, like gravy

Bumper and aero.

Oh my. I'll have to replace all the supports; their f*** ed.

Luckily, as crusty as the intercooler is, I sealed up the pipes so the inside is not bad at all.

Done for today. I need to pick up a couple of wire brushes for the drill and some rust converter to try and stabilize this s***. Need to get some new brackets and bolts as well.

What is that I wonder?

It's definitely not a cheese danish, but nor is it a CA18.

Flameproof suit activate. Activate! Damned cheap Chinese knockoff flameproof suit! Oh crap.... :ohno:

get some mag wheel cleaner if you want to make that boostcooler look like a piece of aluminum again. gasoline inside, mag wheel cleaner outside.

It's so corroded it has surface texture like James Olmos' face. I'm going to come at it with drill and a brass or nylon brush. I need to replace brake and clutch lines as well as the booster and master cylinder. I put them in a plastic box that inexplicably filled with water at some point. Artifacts from the Titanic are in better shape.

None of that old crap will be going back in. I took a turn towards wussy and will be dropping in a fully stock engine. I may slap an SAFC on it for fine tuning, but job 1 right now is get it running. If my financial situation doesn't improve, I may have to sell it so I'm not doing anything too wild. :frown:

I think its a GM quad 4 under the tarp with a b series head and an RB30 cam, probably with ford rods and dodge a transmission. Darn thing'll run 2's in the quarter all motor, especially if it has a rochester quadrajet

Even swapping in a stocker proves to be somewhat challenging nowadays as time, money and/or both is as short as a baby-boy's pee-pee ;). Time is my issue and will continue to be as such because I'm busy building stuff for others. But good luck with the wire wheel and drill thing and make your you wear a mask and protective eyewear because you don't want to put an eye out or inhale that rust.

After seeing this and reading you needed some brake lines I went out and dug around and found a set of Calipers with some HKS Brake Lines still hooked up. They are being packed up and sent out to you tomorrow (the CA18 stash will be sent out soon).

You sure you don't want to go carb or sports injection on yours? You have the header already and the cukoo would be fast with a high comp CA.

No, I am good man. Stock CA in the AE86 should be sufficient. :bigthumb: Just need a better suspension.
