biggie wrote:What size did you get? I would think the 17x7/8 with +32/+38 should fit pretty good. But again I'd prefer non-staggered for my Vert as its a DD and would want wider if it were a 'project' with more power.
16x7/8 with +32/+38. I was looking for 17s, but found a good deal on the mint 16s with new tires (the front tires that came with my vert are shot). 16s seem to look ok on verts (especially with mudflaps), so I wasn't too concerned about slightly smaller wheels.

this is my vert when i had the advans.

my works ( that i have now)

i like the wheel because of all the space that you get it will show alot of the brakes and is a big plus if you have a brake upgrade (z32 calipers)

i'm already on my second set of wheels and i'm going for the third all i can tell you is that wheels make or brake a car. So make sure that you buy what you want because you don't want to buy and sale wheels because it sucks. even if the wheels you want are a bit outside of your budget, save up and get what you really want you'll only save money in the long run.

good luck Anthony

Actually, the Advans turned out to be +35 and +38. I got them today. Pics of the wheels next to the car and 1 front tire fitted:

They're not "officially" going on till spring.

I'd recommend buying beat up ones from RBMotoring for like $500 and then scuffing and repainting them (black center, color match lip to car). I would have went this route had I not found the deal I did. The Advan red is nice, but Nissan red would be nicer.

ish,I don't know how much you paid, but those are good find. I wish they are 17s, not 16s. You should use spacers to push them out a little bit though. Did you put some air? It's getting low. I like your red and black theme/schema. You should have kept black stripe tapes on the body. You know what I mean? That's one clean vert.

This is off topic, but I'd like to mention it. Your door is not completely shut. Actually, I worked on it last night. I pushed 'D' shaped holder to the back, so my door is completely shut finally. Mine was like 1mm off. Besides, line on the door was not aligned with the line on the rear quarter panel. It was also 1mm off. It was very hard to unscrew, but I finally made it.

$750 with new Yokohama tires + shipping. They really are almost mint, and FedEx didn't damage them at all (whew!)

I wanted 17s, but I need tires soon and the deal was right. I'm not too heartbroken about it, finding 17" SA3Rs in mint condition in that color scheme would be difficult. The tires were partially deflated from shipping and I hadn't charged my portable air pump when I was checking fitment.

Thanks for noticing the theme. It's carried over to the interior (like Glyph's car), but I'm not done with the inside yet. I'm getting a Xenon lip, so I didn't think that the tape would look good with what I'm doing to the car. Also, I wanted the S14 Q's emblems to really stand out. That tape was a PITA to get off of the bumpers.

Thanks for the tip on that, I can hear the driver's door squeaking over bumps. I'll put it on the to do list for the future.

Ok, enough threadjacking.

Believe me, I'm not gonna buy really nice wheels for this, being my DD. I still have big wheels to get for my coupe, that will cost me too much, I'm sure.

This is usually the plastic piece that is on the door jam latch. I replaced my passenger's side ('striker assembly' as its called) and mine is tight as can be. I'll probably replace both mine on my coupe and the driver's side on vert too, eventually. They are $15 each through dealership.

I already played with the plastic piece and it didn't make a difference. If you don't have it, you have to slam the door to close it. If you have it, you can shut it easier. Conclusion was... I had to push the assembly back a little bit to get a perfect alignment.

\sorry for the threadjack\

glyph - you still in here? still with us, bud? haven't seen you since last year i'm diggin' the 942's you and your bling... so has anything new developed with this? keep us posted man!

ish - those wheels look awesome i wish i would have found rbmotoring before i slapped the 962's on the old vert... it wasn't a month after i got the 962's that i saw a set of black super advans with a blue lip... my wife would have loved those. maybe i'll sell the big berthas and find something else... it doesn't really matter until i get a new vert anyway, but i can still look.

Yeah, I'm still here and still undecided. I'm leaning now towards either the tri spoke wheels or thes ALT AT-254 Torqs....

They can be had in 17" brand new, with tires and shipping for less than $700. The only problem is I'm having a hard time finding the offset. I tghink it's 40 and I'm not sure how well it would work. But I really like the way they look.

So, great thread. Lot of great opinions, advice, and information. Thanks to everyone who's contributed. Keep it coming.

How 'bout Motegi Touges? Bling but not over the top.

They are available in 4 or 5-lug. Not cheap though.

These awesome wheels are only $600. Shipping is going to be killer, though.

KA-Te has them on her vert, but hers are huge. She has a picture in her gallery.

Yeah! Those look awsome on yokota's car. Once I got a quote from someone in Japan when I was trying to buy some wheels. S&H he quoted me for 4 wheels was 23,300yen for two 24kg boxes via Ship. Isn't it like $200?

Yokota's car makes me want a Sileighty once I move out of DC. If it's only $200 to ship his wheels to the US, someone on NICO should buy them.

I have a contact in Tokyo that I haven't been in touch with for a long time. Him and I should hook up and start shipping containers of JDM parts over here. Used car stuff is practically free in Japan. Didn't Yokota say he found those wheels for $40?

I want Kate's old-school S13 seats!

Diamond racing, but I couldn't find it in here. Maybe someone will chime in.

^Those look very similar with what brokeAs240 has. Yes, they are way better than ADRs.

This is a great setup.

i haven't liked the last few suggestions. i think they look like mercedes wheels or something... i just don't like that look.

as far as the motegi togues, hit up kate and see if she'll sell them seperate from her car. i dont' know if anyone noticed, but she's selling her vert.

That's the point - VIP style!

I wonder if Kate will trade me seats... I'm having a terrible time finding seats for my car.

dude not to be off subject but you have a really clean *** red vert, as for the wheels back on topic, id stay away from chrome, try looking at maybe some bronze or gold sport wheels, gram lights maybe or something. i feel red always looks good with a bronze or gold

Topless, those are nice but they're the exact four styles that everyone out there has. I'm hoping to avoid that.

Donmeca2020, Thanks for the compliment. I'm starting to agree with you on the chrome (maybe) but I just can't get into gold or bronze; especially on red. It just seems too barrio gangsta wannabe's to me. Maybe it's 'cause I live in San Diego lol.

I'll keep trying. I never knew how difficult it was to find wheels that are 4 lug universal, a good proper offset, and attractive to boot. I've been to several local stores and nothing so far. I can't find squat. No wonder everone's sporting the same four sets of wheels.

Oh well...I tried.

I did some more crappy photoshops out of boredom...i'll show you them when I get home because photobucket doesn't work at school.

And i'm home...so here they are:
