I know these aren't Recaros or Sparcos. But I think they will be OK to replace my worn out s13 seats. I know fitment will be an "issue" but I am prepared to do some custom fabrication. I am a kinda large guy 5' 10" 225lbs and I will be using them for a daily driver that will be seeing some track time (autoX and road)

Which do you like?

R1 style

Sparco style

DAD seats

I think the sparco is pretty nice... the butt part isnt too cramped... you can kinda get comfortable if need be

I dont know much about the momo but thats my sparco opinion

yeah i sat in a momo once at a car event... ewwwwwwwyyy that is the most snug fit for me, just perfect. not to tight and not to loose that if you took a turn fast that you start to slide....

havent seen any sparco recliners, my friend has the non recline ones and they are ok just the back is to straight for me...

i sat in corbeaus once at a car show, they are comfy as hell. and they are way cheaper then sparcos or momo's. The most expensive corbeau's are like 500...

I've got the DAD seats with Sparco rails/sliders. Im looking to trade the seats plus a little $$ plus all shipping for some very good condition stock seats.

I take it you don't really like the DAD's - how come?

I love the seats themselves. Good quality and they look good, but with these seats (and all aftermarket seats from what i hear), the seating position is higher than stock. I prefer to have my *** scraping the ground.

I spent $350 on the rails and about 3-4hrs modifying them to fit right, sucks im not happy with the final product. I guess im just picky

What color are the DAD's? How much would you want for them w/o sliders?

They're black (just like on your ebay link). I reaaaaaaly want to get rid of them with all of the hardware and everything, so Im not considering splitting them up at this time, sorry.

Im really looking for a trade for some good stock seats, in blue or gray.

Here's my idea:

Buyer sends me very good/excellent condition seats & $350 Buyer pays shipping

I ship out seats/sliders/rails, I pay shipping.

So, the buyer would get a set of racing seats and all the hardware needed to install for around $450 (Im guessing $100 shipping)

I got an excellent deal getting the seats used (a month old) for $250, then invested $350 in the rails/sliders = $600 I paid

BTW - the 'universal sliders' that come with the DAD seats will never ever ever fit an s13. EVAR!!!

What keeps them from fitting?

I forget exactly. I think it would be possible, but you'd have to weld nuts to the underside of that rail that goes across the car. That didnt make any sense.

Not to mention the universal rails have the lever on the side of the seats, which would make it impossible to actually use because it'd hit the body before its extended enough to actually work.

my apologies for the incoherent post.

gotcha - yep side levers would never work.

Do you HAVE to have stock seats to sell them? How nice a condition do the stock seats need to be in?

either that, or supply me with some sort of box to sit on w/a bunjy cord to use as a lap-belt.

I'd be willing to get less than perfect seats, but the amount of $$ I'd want in addition to the trader handling the shipping would depend on the quality of said stock seats. If you're interested, send me a pic of your seats.

I also gotta find out the cheapest way to ship these bad boys

i like the "r1 style" but i'd personally rather save up for a few weeks and get some real Recaros, that or leave the stock passanger seat and spend all the $$ on one good one :P

i mean, your going to be siting in this thing every day, might as well get something your going to be happy with

Nathan, my camera was weird the day i took the pics. I guess cuz it was extra sunny out, so the seats look purple, but they're black. Neither seats a)are purple b)have any rips or tears or stains c)have been farted on
