I know it is a big deal in Japan because it is different (like a Silvia conversion for us). But the more I look at my coupe, the more I dig the Onevia look. If I did decide to go Onevia, I would badge it as a Silvia and all, if I decide to go Silvia front conversion, it won't be for a while but I would likewise go all out. Opnions?

BTW: If I did Onevia, I would get a PDM front lip and JDM front turn signals as well.

Dude, you already have a Onevia! whats this "if I decide to go onevia" stuff? I'm so confused... do you just mean putting a Silvia badge on the back, or do you want to swap the motor, or what do you mean?

Wow...Didn't realize that what I asked was so hard to grasp;)Basically, I want to add Silvia decals, K's decals, and the like to my stock USDM coupe. Would this be stupid? I really hate to throw around the term JDM, but I want the street level appearance of a car that could be pulled right off the street in Tokyo...except for the side the steering wheel is on of course;) Or should I jsut save my milk mone and get a Silvia front end conversion to meet these ends?

Cool. I am just wanting to know what people think. The basic question is this: Should I keep the stock front end or go Silvia front end?

I'm kind of growing attached to my pop-ups... however, every time I see Jay's silvia conversion, I wish I had it;) Its a tough decision!

love to keep um guessing.

ON the original topic. I own a hatch and I change my mind every single day on wether or not to go with the sil80 look... but for YOU. * I * definatly prefer the look of the Silvia headlights on the USDM coupe.

AS for badging the car as a silvia, and calling your car a "one via" . YOU can do whatever YOU want to your car. You paid for it, enjoy it. BUT you have to be prepaired for people to flame you or make fun.. some people feel that a 240sx is a 240sx and shouldnt be called anything but.

the onevia look is ok. i prefer a stock silvia IMO. I ordered a Silvia logo for the rear the other day from my Nissan dealer, and I've got some people trying to get me some K's emblems for the quarters. I hate the price J-spec has going for them. a pair is 3000 yen from Nissan Japan (27 bucks). So, I'm either gonna get some from an Aussie junk yard, or I'm gonna order them from some guys in Okinawa.

I'm all about the JDM conversion. I just need to save some money up to get the front end done. But that's gonna be later than sooner

Do whatever you want to do, no big deal.

Not to be a ****, and I am by no means flaming you, but am I the only one tired of all this crap? S13 PS13 RPS13 180sx Silvia Sil-80 S14.5....who really cares...It's a 240sx here, that is what it will always be. Regardless of modifications, appearances, whatever. I'm really tired of the dozen + ways you can name your friggin car. I call mine sh**box, is that JDM?

Again, I don't mean to sound harsh, I think all these different setups look cool, but the bottom line is you own a 240sx.

APEXi240 -- there was a large rant thread that got pretty ugly about just that. I think it ended up with people making the argument that you can hate it as much as you want, it still isnt your car and you cant stop the person from calling it (or badging it) as whatever they want.

The names, variations, badges and history are all part of owning a 180sx/200sx(australian)/240sx/S13-14-15 Silvia. If you arent going to get into it & have a little fun with it, why own it?

EDIT: & very funny reply TMS.

if you wanna go with the silvia front end conversion, just remember, they drive on the other side of the road in japan, so the headlights are gonna be pointed in the other direction, so you might get alotta people flashing their headlights at you (opposite traffic) who don't wanna race for a change, but rather are tired of having bright lights in their eyes.

i dont really care whether or not people do the conversions. yes it does get a little annoying cause it is mentioned a lot and i would never do it but they are just trying to make their cars stand out and look different from the U.S. versions.

I have fun with my car, not with names. Plus I have an S14, so I really don't have a half dozen different names to call it like the S13. I own the car because I like the car, not because of its history.

Like I already said, I like all the conversions (minus S15 front) but when some starts sentences with long strings of letters/numbers..."my rps13 with an sr20det..." my eyes just glaze over...it sounds like they are reading a barcode. But then again most car enthusiasts around me stink.

rico, I own an s14 but I think that an s13 with the silvia conversion looks really nice. Forget about the "purists" and the naysayers. If they are so concerned with having a stock looking 240 then let them keep theirs.

As for the badging, I dunno. If you get ALL the badges and really make the car look nice, then Id say do what you want.

I like the pop-ups up on my hatch, they look like they belong there, but the coupe doesnt look like a car that would have pop ups IMO

I just really want something that I can say is as true to the Japanese car as I can get. I am in the process of getting JDM gauges, steering wheel, etc. I have a friend who is getting 200SX glass and badges for his Coupe. ANother buddy of mine has a 180SX taillights for his hatch. ANother guy is prob gonna get a Type-X front end for his coupe. So I guess to round us all out I need to go Silvia front end. Thanks for the opnions guys:)

depends on what you are going to put on the front end.silvia - looks really good with just the OEM aero bumper/onevia - you better get a damn nice bumper and full aero kit.

Personally, I love the stock 91-93 240SX coupe look, minus wheels and wheel gaps.

But since you seem pretty adamant on going for the authentic JDM look, go with the S13 Silvia front.

Well I am a jackass. Although I couldn't find anything on this with the search button. Seems really damn stupid though. What in the hell would be the point in making headlights like that? Honestly was it cost issue? I mean the brightness I can see, maybe, but the bad adjustability seems pretty dumb. I don't kow I am really tired now and rambling.

I'm all for the conversions and making your car look better. However, if it's not a RHD vehicle don't put a Silvia badge on it.

just my .02

have a great day.
