So if I convert mine to right hand drive, I can put a silvia badge on it? ;)

The kid w/ SiR badges on his car probally does not have a H22A/B16A(2) etc. I AM doing the SR20DET swap (I am ordering in early Dec.) I also have JDM gauge cluster, and I am trying to source JDM interior pieces. So, as I already stated, I *plan* on having as much of the Japanese spec parts minus RHD as possible. I just noticed that in Japan Onevias are rare and considered cool. I planned on mabye the PDM racing front lip, and Nismo side skirts. I jsut want something that is different than the 10,000 S13s in my town (there are 2 current SRs, another one comming, and 2 guys doing KA-Ts but all but one of em are hatches) The guy w/ the Coupe is mabye doing a Type-X front bumper.

No offense intended, but what's cool about having a car that has all "JDM" parts. Would it be as cool to have all UK spec parts? I just dont get the appeal...

I say go for the Silvia front end if you want that "off the streets of Tokyo" look. I notice a lot of 240SX's on the road these days (funny how buying an S14 makes you spot all S13-S14's on the road with precision) and the Silvia front end will draw more eyeballs than the stock pop-up, since well... it's stock here in the U.S.

And WOW what happened to "do whatever you want to your car because it's yours and you paid for it so make it stand out from stock if you want to" idea? Kind of sad how certain people flame anyone who wants to change something on their car for their own personal preference. SO what if they put a Silvia badge on their car? So what if they go for a JDM look? So what if they choose the neon 2F2F action? IT'S THEIR CAR NOT YOURS. I have a Silvia badge on my stock S14 hood... does that automatically make me a "Ricer"? Forget the fact that I'm slowly gearing up the suspension and engine for legal competition. Oh I have a Silvia emblem on my trunk too. That makes me an idiot? I don't think so. Part of the joy of owning and actually appreciating your car beyond "daily beater to work" status is driving it, cleaning it, fixing it, upgrading it, and personalizing it. So I say if you want that "Streets of tokyo" look, then go for it. It's your car, and I'm sure whatever YOU choose to do with it will be attractive to YOU.

You're not doing stuff to your car to please other people. Remeber it's YOUR car =) 86 on the flamers.

I wasnt flaming, i was just being ironic :) (i got lots of JDM stuff).

I keep away from argments like this by just calling my car a s13, some people call my car a silvia, others call it a 240sx, in all reality, i dont care what they think cause i like my car and thats all that matters.

I wonder what "UK spec" parts differ from JDM parts.

Curiousity I guess, but hey - more information is great for the 240SX meets when it's "trivia time" heheh

And yes, J-Spec just reinforces my previous post: if you like your car, that's all that matters :)

As I stated before I am all for doing conversions to make your car unique and personalized to your own tastes. However I will state again if your car is not a Silvia it should not be badged as a Silvia.

I would really like to see a nicely modified S13 roll down the street and have it proudly display that it is a badd *** 240SX not something that was never released in the US or Canada and everyone knows you cannot have.

Just my opinion. I'm not going to make fun of you for putting Silvia badges on your car I just personally don't agree. I'm not flaming you or intending to flame you however there are plenty of people that probably will for putting Silvia badges on a stock S14.

Have a great day.

i have to agree with sean on that one...if you want it as "japaneese as it can get" i suggest doing other REAL mods other than badges. Your destined to get an ear full from kids with real engines and real jdm cars. Dont make the 240 gay

(sorry I had to post an FA link ;)... but this was one of the threads I've read discussing it)

Thanks man. I would have never thought of that as being a problem. They talked about some UK lights that were adjustable, perhaps a set of those lights would be thebest way to go. Either that or say piss off to all the drivers on the road.

Sounds like you are doing some excellent work on your car. I like Silvia front end because it will give you that attention grabbing look. But keep it real! and proudly display your 240SX stickers.:ylsuper
