I traded my 90 RX-7 with a frankensteined motor (a bunch of 89 parts put on a 90+ motor, someone probably blew it and replaced it with cheap parts) for this! A 92 coupe 5spd that hydroplaned, spun around backwards, and hit the car behind it. There is no frame damage, so it'll be good to go once the obvious **** is fixed. Take a gander and let me know what you kind fellows think:

The bumper fell off when the guy put it onto the trailer, which doesn't matter to me since I'm getting the Silvia front asap. Myself, my friend, and my girlfriend removed the fenders and headlights this morning since there's really no reason they should be on anymore!

Also, it starts but won't hold idle. There is no battery in it at the moment, and my thoughts are that it's a pinched fuel line or a disconnected vacuum hose. Any other thoughts?

frame rails are a part of the frame... make sure you check the suspension arms and strut tower for misalignment.. might be a pain to get those straight again and to weld on a new frame rail..

the frame rails are fine. the motor mounts sit on those and the motor is in the exact location that it should be. the right strut tower is pushed in a little from the hit and i figured that would be a pain to repair. the reason the right wheel looks jacked is because of the busted control arm.

good luck with the build.. as far as pulling out the inner front fender area your best bet is either going to be a good sized slide hammer and an old school pogo stick, and dont forget a small sledge hammer, worth their weight in gold if you go that route though it will never look "perfect" but as long as the panels bolt on and align properly who cares.. if you are going to be replacing that inner panel (hard to tell exactly how bad it is from pics) have fun busting out the welder and going to town... keep us posted

everything is basically being pulled out. lucky for us 240 owners, the radiator support comes off in pieces, so only part of that needs to be replaced. as far as i know, everything else is just being rolled and pulled out and frame machined. going to be a couple weeks on it since it's not an insurance job, but oh well!

hey dude whats going on. Thats defiantly my old car. You bought it from a guy named Eston, he had it for maybe 6 months. I had the car before him.. it still looks exactly the same except the wreck, I put Tein Basic coilovers on it, front and rear strut bars that are polished like the valve cover & A SSAUTOChrome CatBack. The front bar got bent in the wreck. Am I ringing bells? I miss that car so much, many memories When I sold him the car it ran extremely strong. Alot better than my current S14 did before it blew a headgasket, lol. Let me know if you want to know more about the car, and what I did to it. The car was originally from south carolina, that where I bought it with a little over 100,000 miles.

veebee, I changed the title of your thread since "what do you guys think about this!" will not help anyone when it comes to searching for something that could be more relevant to their interests like "bent frame" or "body work" and other related topics.

uh, thanks i guess? either way, it's not bent enough to be considered gone forever

and yeah, you definitely rang some bells. my friend straightened the strut tower bar by standing on it lol. that is sitting in my garage along with the re-bar which i need to take to the body shop

and yeah the car still runs strong as hell
