So now I must jump in for another perspective...First off, a few lines up Team503 said "It's just a 240SX," not a Ferrari, etc. Anyway, I looked into the 240 for jeez... I dunno... roughly a year before I got my car (though I didn't pick my car and I still wanted a 240 when I got it, I don't have ANY qualms with my Sentra, except the whole starting problem... see the Sentra/200SX forum for that story, and RWD would be cool for feel, but its not like I have anywhere to try drifting anyway). Anyway, I wanted a 240 BAD, I had the sickness for sure. I went to other cars but I kept coming back... So, I got to know as much as I could, which some of the guys who've been on this section for several months can attest to. I had plans, eventually looking at making something original, project car wise, with my "Mini-Skyline" idea (bore out KA to 2.6 litres and add a turbo, really weird, but unique for sure). Now I find myself driving an 01' Sentra with the "performance package." I'm not looking for an LSD, I already have one, I'm not looking to save mileage, I have only 39kish, I don't have any worries about Civics, I have 145 angry horses, with more on the way if I ever get off my butt and finally order some stuff (intake and short shifter, for now). My plans now include some basic engine mods and a ton of suspension work. The idea is to make one of the best-handling FWD cars out there, then go turbo, then autoX in college and beyond. But for now, I have a reliable, low mileage, decently fast, car, no debts, no tickets, no wrecks, and only 16 years on my own clock.Basically, I'm saying that it all depends on what you really feel. 240s are awesome cars but Sentra's/200SX's, particularly SE-R's, certainly have their own niche and are fun. Just about any car is going to be fun for a 16 or 17 or whatever year old for their first car, especially with a 5speed. Even with my LSD I can chirp tires with no problem whatsoever (though if I don't want to, I can still floor it and not have to

) and that's with only 145hp! A 240SX would certainly be capable of the same. In other words, it doesn't really matter, get what you can find and afford. Look at all your options, a Sentra/200SX would be cheaper (and probably newer), but a 240 has more potential. Find what you want and don't look back, and remember that what you do end up getting may not be what you expected.
Case in point: My brother never really looked at Audi's, he got one. I never really looked at Sentras, I got one as a surprise the same day I got my license.
