agree! this is the part that I hate about the look of the 2002+ q- way too much metal in this area, swallowing even the largest wheel/tire combo

I drove an A8 4.2 at work, decent car to drive but nothing amazing. Audis tend to have weird electrical problems too. They're good cars to lease, not to buy. And if you like the A8 you might as well save some money and buy a VW Phaeton (same platform and will actually get more looks on the road).

But it is steel for a 600 lb. weight penalty with a less powerful engine. Another repair queen.

not only is it heavier, and ugly, but the pedestrian mindset of everyone working at the vw dealer has no idea how to satisfy consumers of ultraluxury sedans.

He does bring a point... Audi knows how to treat the rich, VW does not.....

However, I went to an infiniti dealer and they had a phaeton on the lot, had less than 15k miles on it, was an 04 model, and they wanted like 38 grand for it.. That car was hardcore expensive when new, maybe like 80 or something?

But what can those Nissan/Infiniti execs be thinking about the current Q??? I remember when it came out my friend was the GM at Infiniti of Ventura (now GM at Cars 101 in Ventura) and they saying was this was the "no execuse" version of the Q, and they come out with great horsepower, great stats in 0-60, really nice interior and the looks of an I35 with extra air added.

I went with my Dad when he was looking at cars and we looked at the Q and LS430 back to back. For me I would have still leaned to the Q, but the LS was just as fast or at least damn close, had a bigger trunk and the rear seat was nearly a limo compared to the Q. For a 70 year old guy, this was a VERY easy choice.

For me, I like the looks of the Y33 over the G50, I was never a big fan of the looks of the original Q, go ahead and shoot me for that, I was a fan and still am a fan of the car. I helped two friends buy/steal them in the late 90's and both people had them for a long time and put lots of miles on them.

They should get it right or give up and just let the M be the model they spend their time on.

Just over $76K new for the V8, around $110K new for the W12.
