Heres my nissan 240SX story:

Since i was 15 i wanted one. i saw one and thought "thats sexy". im a sucker for flip up head lights and the ford probe had nothing on its sexy hatch look.

unfortunately my parents would never let me buy it.

my first love was a supped up sentra which i quickly totaled. (i was 17)

next was a green dodge stratus. that was peppy but quickly proved that american cars are crap. (opinion)

So a few months ago i purchased a 1989 nissan 240SX for 400 dollars.

the car had been sitting for a year or more so everything was like dead. the inside smelled like someone died. and it didnt work.

800 dollars later the car was alive with a loud rumble that could set off car alarms (it was awesome doin that)

then trouble struck. needed a new master and slave for the clutch.

got that done and then two hours after i got my car outta the shop. BAM! it over heated and the engine blew. apparently there was some sensor that was off.

so now im back to square one only this time i need an engine. i found someone that has one for 300 gonna put it in for another 300

so now we play the waiting game. my job cut my hours so money is tough. but imma wait it thru. i have to. ive finally got my dream car and im not selling it to anyone grrrrrr.

its got cross drilled ventilated disc brakes. a cool LED lit floor board. even the shifter knob lights up. suspension. and i just love the removable moonroof. so sexy. cant wait to get it back. then rebuilding it begins. i will keep you guys in the loop. :)

when i got the car the front bumper was upgraded from the pignose to the sexy second gen S13 bumper

Image
the interior as u can see is blue but i say "bleh!" i gonna do a silver and tie in with some blue. starting with the console. the shift knob lights up blue where the H pattern insignia is.

Image
its so sexy. im a huge fan of the manual moonroof. if u notice theres a slightly lower stance in the front. and higher in the rear. thats because of the new springs in the front

Image
rear bumper needs some work

i have no idea if this is the stock exhaust. i always thought that the 240 for that year came with dual tip exhaust.

Its got a different exhaust, nothing too performance from what i can tell but probably just a replacement, the 89/90 model just had a little 1.25" pipe for an exhaust. The 91-94 had the dual tip.

Good luck with her mang she looks like shes got some potential

Yeah, painted interior panels are dook.

It'll be impossible to get them back to stock now, so I suggest first re-spraying white and then going Jackson Pollock on them with a bunch of different colors. It isn't original, others have done it, but at least it'll look kinda cool. Or stickerbomb, which is also crappy, but at least it's less crappy than blue.

That's a pretty decent hatch though. Be nice to it.

Buy some used coils, weld dif, have fun, be safe.

OKAY UPDATE:

I pick up my new (old) engine this tuesday if all goes according to plan. dude was getting desperate i assume cuz the price of the engine dropped. I'm getting the engine for 200. its coming with a transmission and ECU.

The shop will put it in 450. Props to Lethal Injection Motorsports.
Again if all goes according to plan i want to start rebuilding the engine in the summer.
If i get enough money from taxes Im buying second daily driver and converting the 240 to a strictly project car.
Ill have to find something as fun to drive as the 240. lol that's a hard task.

Once it gets a little warmer in the ATL i plan on doing some extensive interior work to get the car looking good on the inside. Paint job is the least of my worries at this point. Interior and Mechanical are top priority for me.

Also looking into finding some good parts for what i want to do to the car.

Sorry i dont have pix. Like two months ago i got robbed. my laptop and my phone along with a few other things were stolen from me. My phone was my only source of camera for me. I'm slowly getting things back in order.

I also realize that creating too any threads are counterproductive. So I apologize for that.

I hope to bring you more progress soon.
(Im going to try and grab my buddies camera on the way to pick up the engine so i can take pix)

I've seen a few interiors with things painted silver. Doesn't look as bad as the blue, but it'd still keep it oem. OEM is so fresh.

UPDATE:

I picked up my KA-24e just this past Monday. It was taking me for ever to find a pick up truck. In the end the person I was buying the engine from wound up dropping it off at the shop for me.

Total price of the engine: 200 dollars. it had 140,XXX miles on it. so its not too bad for the fact that it came out of a 1989. (couple years ago i bought a 2000 dodge stratus with that much miles on it so this shouldnt be too bad)

Lethal Injection Motorsports says they will start working on it by the end of this week. But the way weather is here now. (SNOW AND ICE) It may be delayed for a bit longer. Im so anxious to get it back though.

I'm sorry i dont have pictures yet. I still havent been able to get a phone since i was robbed. So please bear with me. As soon as i get some type of phone there will be pictures galore. :D

For now once i get the car back ill only be doing minor work. Because i dont actually live in a house it may be difficult to do extensive work. (plus my apartment complex is dumb when it comes to stuff like that. I could barely get a brake job done with them saying something)

Im really going to be working on trying to make sure that there isnt any rust forming and trying to get the car cleaned up. the last owner wasnt very nice to it. Once spring/ Summer hits, i will definitely be doing something more productive. In the mean time, ill take it slow and save my money for an engine rebuild.

I'll keep you guys updated :D

Another post update:

Okay okay. I know!

All this Damn time and no pix of any real progress.

Okay so i don't have pix yet. BUT I have medium in which to take pix. I got a phone. After two months of not having one.

Now on to my S13. My S13 is slated to be out of the shop in three weeks. UGHHHH! I hate waiting. Apparently the Shop is still behind. So its taking so much longer than anticipated. I'm gonna try to make a trip up to the shop tomorrow if my friend is willing to drive me so i can take pix of the engine and stuff.

Some people are telling me that I should sell my S13. Even tho i've already put $1100 into it. Some even called my S13 a hunk of junk :( But I dont care what they say! I'm KEEPING my 240 till it purrs like a kitten at low RPM and growls like a lion at high RPM. :D

I will soon have more progress soon. stay tuned.

UPDATE: i know its been a long time coming. I should of reported this months ago but someone stole my laptop and my friend took back the one she was letting me borrow. (Currently at the Library. :( I haven't been in one of these places since I was like 10...) Anywho, The Engine has been installed in the 240 and is running great. But i think i may need new fuel injectors. I'm just going to replace them all because a Fuel injector set came with the car when I bought it anyways. So far I've done some Air intake upgrading (it's really cheesy but i found out that the original piping was split in half and was taped together with electrical tape. As I started unwraping the tape i realized that this was going to be a project. And after I untaped it at an Autozone I realized that there was no real way of fixing it. So i had to retape it and drive it to Pep boys and then start rebuilding the whole piece. After much time and effort i wound up buying the stupid plastic hose looking thing and a few other connections. All in all it cost 60 bucks and I HATE IT. It looks so tacky but money is pretty tight right now. Anyway my next endevor will be a new clutch. Im thinking something a little above a stock one. Like a stage two. The where I take my car to does a custom one plus install for 800. They make it from scratch. If I can save up for the custom then I will do that. If not then 400 to install and then the price of the clutch.
I also need to find a damn Coolant Tank. It has a huge hole in it already and my stupid butt lost the cap. (Please don't ask how)

I've got pics coming pretty soon so u can see the progress.

Getting some 17 inch rims soon from a dude I work with for a 100 bucks +tires. They arent the best looking but they look better than the stock ones.
Next time i come to the Library...I'll post up some pics. Gotta get the car cleaned first
Thanks for reading. Later :)

This thread makes me feel like I should have a build thread, because I've reached the level of changing most of the various fluids on my car, and removed the clutch fan

As in, they keep your car for a few weeks until some other guy brings in a nissan for a new clutch, and they "custom build" his stock one into your car :naughty:

lmao Hmmm the shop does specialize in 240's. i think I'll stick to buying my own and getting them to install it. Although I would looove to put it in myself. I'll have to look into that as well.
