yesterday my license plate fixtures decided to fall. well technically one. I had to take out the right one because its bolting brackets had completely rusted and were somewhere not on the fixture. (Probably got stuck in a poor Honda's tire years ago) So i stuck that in my 240sx bag of goodies. Its a duffel bag full of parts, screws, and other stuff that either should be on the car or what to put on the car. So the other day i was filling up gas and sure enough the left one was hanging. Because Alpharetta police know my 240 pretty well (due to past encounters involving tag and insurance), it would be risky to just leave it hanging. (Alot of people complain about my loud 240 but so far I haven't been caught in the act of it. Referring to racing btw. I've calmed it down since. Sorry for the digression) anyways after like 15 minutes of trying to get it to stay in place i finally just removed the housing and stuck a single bulb in between the bumper and the license plate. Wedged in there good. I've got to find replacements soon. Gonna call the shop on payday and see if i can snag some from their 240 yard

Here's some random stuff i gotta fix and / or replace:

Image
the reservoir tank is an obvious eyesore and serves no purpose at this point because it has a HOLE in it. that needs to be replaced
Image
the crack in the center reflector lighting piece is also another eyesore. I want to try and find a Silvia one.
Image
The car came with an alarm system. I have not researched whether it was standard or not but at any rate, it needs to be reprogrammed and rewired. I plugged the unit in the other day and it scared the crap out of me. So i know the alarm works.
Image
I just dont like they way the radiator looks through here. It looks like crap. lol Although it still works, when I get up some extra money on hand I'll buy a new one and put it in.

This is funny, but....

You're going to run your crap dry, and overheat it and kill another motor. You probly just melted the first one into a chunk, running out of coolant slowly.

If you're going to drive a ratty car, at least be honest about it. How are you even thinking about silva parts when your motor's going to melt?

I took my tank out, JB welded that hole (yes, that same exact one, only worse) with milk jug patches, and it's better than new.

Go to the hardware store, get a JB weld kit or 3, and start fixing things, instead of paying other people for parts you don't need to make things shiny, while you overheat.

Making a light bulb bracket or whatever else shouldn't be hard. It just won't be a uber JDM performance light holder, or a uber JDM preformance coolant tank.

Buying a clutch in two weeks but i don't know what to get. Any suggestions on an affordable clutch ($75-150)? My budget is really tight.

....as if you will listen to any suggestions you seem to ignore stuff pretty well but auto zone 99.99 lifetime warranty

Crappy clutch yes! but definitely cheap and they replace them no questions asked (only 3 time i believe tho)
(Also seriously ditch the ghetto fab piping!)

Long time no see Nicos! I have great news. I've landed a new job making great money. I have pix of what the car looks like now on my other phone so I'll upload those soon.

Bad news! :(

My S13 wont pass emissions. So I'm letting it sit for a bit and gather dust while I save up some money for some goodies. Meanwhile, I've been using my roommates car to get around...2004 Ford Freestar... Don't you laugh!!!

It sux on gas, has an oil leak, needs plugs and wires,--it's the crappiest minivan I've ever driven.

But next month is going to be awesome. I'm replacing my clutch and cat-back.

Ive got a friend who is going to help me put on the clutch and i can do the exhaust my self.

Month after next I want to replace the header. It's great to have money.
Edit:: Oh yeah. Im buying a new Cat too. thats the root of my emissions problem.

You will see more Pix soon. for now take care

Lamonsters out! :D

lol i just read this. i totally forgot i had a page 2 :gapteeth:
i check the coolant level all the time. HA! its had holes in it since i bought the car last year. I've had the car for almost a year now. AND the engine is quite fine. I check the coolant level all the time. Im getting a new(er) coolant tank. I dont want to patch it. Thanks for the tip though :D

It's a slooow build. I had no job at one point. But I've been researching and gaining contacts with ppl that used to race or show in 240's and are providing me with a wealth on info on where to get parts around atlanta. I should have all my parts purchased by the middle of next month.

I just have to find time to work on it being that this is my daily driver and i have two jobs now

Then I will start building. And you will see it.

How little do you drive, that your clutch can slip for a yearc and still bite at all?

If you're parking the thing because of emissions, remember to not start it dry, you'll do your piston rings like mine got done when my car's seller was getting it "ready" for me. Crazy smoke, won't help them emissions problems none.

As for emissions, cheat. Seafoam it, and go to the test with the highest octane, most seafoam-containing gas available to you.

aaaaand for that clutch, the one you've been talking about for a year, I would just go with the Exedy OEM style replacement, its like $100 on ebay.
