Get a Pathfinder, a trailer and a Yamaha R6. The Pathfinder will be reliable, you can carry stuff back and forth from home to college and it would be great for road trips. The trailer to carry your R6. The R6 to drive to class on the nice days, so you can park close to the building, and still have speed when you just feel like going fast. But if you have never ridden a bike before then I would suggest finding a dirt bike to start out on. Its not quite the same a a street bike but it gives you the feel of riding on two wheels and leaning, not turning, into turns. Not sure how well this will go with your parents but thats what I would do.

Yeah, I did read it wrong, but it's just that you said it was impractical, then go on to talking about buying a M3.

The Pathfinder is also a real good idea...with the bike, but that's an optional add on I guess.

If I get a chance today, I'll take a picture of my car so you can see what happens at college. It's not pretty.

Good luck with whatever choice you make.
