On Start Hear Buzz from below

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

This may be normal, but it sounds odd to me because my other push button start vehicle doesn't make this noise, it just turns on when i hit the start button.

When I push the start button I hear a brief buzzing/humming from under the center console area, possible the undercarriage, until the engine is engaged. I'm thinking it might be a fuel pump priming or something but honestly it doesn't sound like a normal sound a car should make when starting up.

Sounds like the fuel pump issue many of us have had.

Got mine replaced and all I hear now is the ignition and the sweet roar of the VQ!

Acutally I hear the same thing on mine (just got my EX this weekend) and I'm not sure if it is the fuel pump. Youre right its more like a buzzing/wheezing sound rather than a hum. Sounds like a hard drive spooling up for the Nav.

Did you end up getting your pump replaced anyway?

Well, if you have any ideas for sustainable ways to make things better organized, please feel free to suggest them!

Kinda weird quoting myself but....

The wheezing buzzing sound I just found out was th CD spooling to get the tracks ready if ever I pressed cd. So far don't notice the fuel pump hum which is good for me I guess.

I think it sohuld have topic separation like Interior, Exterior, Mechanical, General Chat, Navi, etc etc. typical forum sub-sections would really help sort this board out and willl make it more easy to read on a certain topic w/o doing a search. just my 2 cents.
