Do you want speed or do you want to handle well first? Or both?'
For speed, I'd do a bullydog tuner
Suspension - coils
Both on a budget - tuner and springs.

Agreed.

If you have a 2.5 get the header after. Intake and exhaust at the same time. I suggest doing springs FIRST. I should have. I regret not doing it.

I disagree. If we're talking bang for the buck performance and OP has about $1k saved up, I say get a y-pipe, rsb and fsb, on the assumption OP has a 3.5.

the y-pipe is cheaper than the bullydog and you still see 10-15hp in gains, while the rsb/fsb/spring setup will make the car handle way better.

$265 (racingline ypipe) + $150 (racingline rsb) + $110 (racingline fsb) = $525 + shipping. Then go get a magnaflow setup with the remaining money and you're golden.

Rock the Eibachs for a while. Go with this stuff if you're a 3.5. Throw in the Racingline STS if you have a 6MT. If you want the total package, add a Stillen Axle-back to get a better look and overall exhaust flow. The y-pipe is the weakest part in the exhaust for the 3.5s. (Header is weak link in the 2.5s). The rear section of the exhaust is HEAVY. A Tanabe Medalion axle back saves 10 pounds (and looks EXPONENTIALLY BETTER than the terrible looking OEM exhaust). Stillen Axle-back for a budget. It will also save weight, though I'm not sure how much.

What sucks about our cars is the catbacks are terrible for true performance increase. Both Greddy catbacks (TiC and SE) are only 60mm piping (2.3 inches-ish), and the Nismo has variable piping diameter, sometimes as low as 1.8". N/A VQs see gains on piping diameters as large as 3". The stock muffler section is also restrictive, so that's about as good as you can get. At one point, a guy from stillen said that there was only a 1-2hp difference between the axleback and catback systems.

I'm debating a custom single exhaust for mine with a universal muffler of some type. Have not decided yet.

Id say there are plenty of exhaust out there that are just as nice and cheaper then spending the money on the Greddy. Buy a different exhaust and put the money toward something else like the racingline y pipe or intake.

i like the greddy exhaust look & sound but the price is the main reason why i went custom. for a custom exhaust, it will come out more than half cheaper than the greddy. if your trying to save money, go custom and youll have money left over to continue to mod.

That's a pretty good combo. :dblthumb: Is the rsb+fsb handling > coilover handling you would say? Even if it isn't, 525 is great for that extra power and better handling. Idk how much of the power you feel from the y pipe but Ive heard you really feel the difference with the tuner. Maybe I'd go with tuner + rsb + fsb since you already have the drop

i don't have a ypipe or fsb, so i really couldn't tell you. this is what i've heard from other people, namely local coupes, that have those parts. i would imagine that it would help with the body roll, and that is a definite improvement on handling. the fsb is next on my list though, to pair with my coils and rsb.

and btw you quoted it wrong lol

best bang for the buck mod for a 2.5 has got to be the headers. so instead of a ypipe, get headers + rsb + fsb.

Do in the following order for engine performance: (My opinion only)

1. Intake
2. Exhaust
3. Header
4. BD Power Pup / GT Tuner, you should be able to find the Power Pup for cheap now since the GT Tuner replaced it.

For suspension stuff I agree with the previous posts except for the front strut bar. It won't do too much. Get the rear sway, end links etc. If you are lowered on wider/larger wheels I would suggest the Eibach Camber kit for the rear as it's super cheap and will correct any camber wear if you have any. An alignment will not fix this issue.

Other things you can look at besides "performance" mods, although, the mods below offer visual and look performance I guess haha:

1. 4300K - 6000K HIDs for best light output. 4300K will look factory, while 6000K will be near pure white. Anything above will be blue to purplish unless that is the look you are going for. Keep in mind the higher temperature you go, the less usable light you have.

2. Body components such as:

- Spoilers
- Carbon Fiber Hoods
- Front Fascias / Grilles
- Fog Lights (if you do not have factory ones)

Just to name a few.

3. Stereo system / Navigation. Speaker replacement if required (I'm still running stock non-bose and they sound ok for me).

you could actually just get a set of adjustable camber arms for a 350z, from another thread that i read on here the part number for the OEM camber arm on the a/c is actually the same as a Z. sure the bolt is cheaper, but it's sooooo much easier to just swap the entire arm instead of having to do some drilling. and i've actually heard that the endlinks are a waste of money as well.

I also agree that HID's are a good investment, both cosmetically and performance-wise (on the assumption you don't get some rediculous color like 11k and something more usable, like 5k or 6k).

Oh right, yeah I saw that thread. Good memory!

Oh, and this is good for 40HP... installing-red-gtr-start-button-t521999.html

Might consider doing that lol.

I'd go with a cheaper engine mod like intake or bd tuner and the rest of the money spend on sway bar+drop and maybe one asthetic mod if you have any money left over like a Stillen lip. It does wonders for the looks of the front of the car.
