So your skirting the issue that its stupid to get a tattoo in a language you don't speak by hiding behind the fact that he isn't sure?

I never said she didnt speak it. Which she can. I dont understand why it keeps going back to this. I ask if anyone had anything good I could use not HEY! come judge me and tell me how stupid this idea is. I understand everyone has their own opinion but Every other post just seems to be the same question or in the same nature. I am a good sport about it because I know their opinions but dont sit here behind you computer telling me its a bad Idea or trying to be sarcastic like "Getting tattoos in languages you're not fluent in is ALWAYS a good idea" If you have no clue if She or I can speak it or not. If your not into tattoos then fine, Thats your choice. Dont hate or judge me because I am or I want to get something that represents the best thing in my life. If something happens to us, I will always have it to look at and remember what it meant and will always mean. /rant

True, for all one knows, the expression might also mean "I'm with stupid - - >" in swahili and neither one would know... j/k

Oh, I could make a pretty goddamn good educated guess. Fluent in a language less than 10% of native Irish are fluent in? I'm betting against that horse.

Prove me wrong, horsey.

Jesus, people! Dude is just asking for opinions. Why does anything about a tatoo turn into a flame fest? I'm not into tatoos, but a lot of my friends are. It's just something to remember a particular time/event/person by. God forbid he wants to get something to remember his WIFE by. HE KNOWS THE SH*T IS PERMANENT!

Xdisaster240sX, get what you want to. Especially if the lady wants to get the same thing. Don't mind all the naysayers.

Opinions are like tattoos, only as$holes have them.

That being said, never get a tattoo about a woman. Even if she is your wife.

Not many, granted. But the point is, this is this dude's body. Kinda boils down to what we see in all the ugly a** mods that people do to their cars. It's his body, and he'll do with it what he pleases.

Sure.... But don't ask for advice then.

He is asking us what to do with his body. So we are telling him.Funny thing about asking for peoples opinions. Sometimes they will actually give them to you. Bit stupid to then complain that that opinion isn't the one you wanted.

The thing is, though, in the OP, he asked not to say, "don't get a woman's name" and all other opinions are welcome.

I never asked for an opinion on whether to get it or not. I asked if anyone had any good ideas on what to get. Granted, It was a dumb idea to ask nico a question like that considering everyone and their moms will give their opinion on it.

Instead of a tattoo, why don't you guys just bite each other really fricken hard and let it heal naturally without any antibiotics or anything. That will be permanent, too.

I wouldn't call it a dumb idea, but you just learned not all car people are that much into tattoos. (some are) And when you solicit ideas from a group where many don't share your passion, you re gonna get some less than constructive answers.

There were some helpful answers in this thread, one of which you said you liked, so I suggest easing up a bit on everyone else and their mom's opinion. .

I don't really see the correlation between cars and tattoos.... So I dunno why this is relevant?

(p.s. I'm not trying to be a d!ck. Just trying to figure out what you were trying to do )

Actually, you answered your own question. There is no correlation between the two. Now, there are some NICOnauts that do like tattoos AND cars, like Beancooker and the OP.

Unfortunately, not enough of the folks that are fans of both were on General Chat yesterday to give the OP the type of advice/approval he was seeking.

That's all.
