Hey guys, in need of some info I cant seem to find. I took off my Oil Pressure switch before swapping the motor back in (not sure exactly why I did this) and I can’t find what to torque it down to. I remember when I took it off the damn thing was snug has hell. I’ve already rethreaded it and tightened it down but I just want to make sure I didn’t put too much pressure on it or not enough. I just swapped this motor back in and the last thing I want is to blow this thing up over something so trivial.

I started it up the day before, just to test and make sure everything sounded good and let it run for about a Min or 2 then shut it off. Then I checked the switch and didn’t feel or see any oil dripping off of it, so I think I'm ok just want to make sure, b/c I just read a post about someone tightening it too much and damaging his motor.

Motor is a black top sr but Ka specs should work seeing as its the stock replacement.

I should also put that i tightened it down by hand, then used an adjustable wrench till it was snug.

I have never seen torque spec's for the oil pressure switch.

I would not use the KA specs as the KA is iron block, and the SR aluminium.

The thread should be tapered pipe thread, so I would use a sealing compound (teflon gel) and snug it up. It shouldn't need more then finger tight with a socket on it.

You could go through the SR FSM and try to find it in there if you really wanted to.

I dug through the FSM earlier before I posted and it didn't mention anything other than pointing it out. I'm getting up early tomorrow so I might back it out and put it back in just to be sure I didnt over tighten it. Thanks Ian.
