like the title says i went to get an oil change today, but the idiot put the wrong oil flter in the car and as soon as i started the car the oil filter poped and i did'nt know about it until i had already backed up about 20,25 feet, now here is my question what are the chances that it messed up my motor, and what can i do to check it .... thanks for your reply

if it just came off and you immediately shut the car off, it will be fine. Just make a claim with the oil change place and make them buy you a new engine even though its still good.

haha yeah do that. if its a sr20 and the title still says ka then i don't think they can be liable. but hey its worth a try

check to see if the treads where the oil filter is supposed to go didn't strip off.

Not only that, but the KA holds a considerable amount MORE of oil.

Good luck.

20-25Ft? You're fine man, just pop a new filter on and top up your oil.

yep no worries id say..but theres probly none in there now, but atleast u didnt start drivin home

earlier this week i changed iol in a mustang, i lowered the car and started doing a coolant flush on it. So i hooked everything up and started the car and let it run.. a while later the just decide to check the engine temp. and saw the oil pressure gauge chillin at 0... i was like o siht! i forgot to add oil. It was runnin for like 3 minutes to with zero oil...haha i laughed to my self and was like fu*k this automatic, v6, convertable, ****** p.o.s. I eventually added iol though, im suprised it wasnt knocking
