What size tires are you running on those wheels? and did you have to pull/roll the fenders any?

Nice collection indeed, but what's with the 83-85 Eldorado?

The Roadster and Z look great, as does the Altima.

The Silver G50 Q is simply gorgeous.

And I'll confess, I like Eldos too.

Very nice looking Q, I really like the silver over black and hope to have one even if it's a Y33.

The HU swap can be done using a "off the shelf" part from Nissan that's ~$14. I looked for in dash changers for a long time, but settled for a 99 Pathfinder HU and it controls the stock changer.

Welcome to NICO ... now tell us more about the older Nissans .

Thanks much, I've been at it since the 80s. Many roadsters, a 510 Wagon, many old Datsuns and yes I have a couple Caddis too call me bi-polar. My Q has to be one of my alltime favorites. Its an 85 Seville (which is in the background of that pic) and I have a matching 84 Eldo. Both Silver no vinyl. Here's a link to those rides. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2157812

Thanks Much,Datsun2k

Love your car! Looks incredible and incredibly clean.

How long have you had those wheels and what size tires are you running? Can I get some info on your stereo upgrade? How is the fit, any difference in the sound, did you have to change or buy any other parts?

Thanks in advance

I purchased the Silver Q on Ebay about 2 &1/2 years ago w/37k miles for about 9800, then had it shipped out to So Cal @ that time gas prices were not so crazy so shipping was about 650 to 820(top load). The wheels are 05 Infiniti M45 rims 18" & they fit perfect (02 to 06 Q45 rims are the same), I also purchased the 17" Q45 rims for highway driving (less road noise more cush)I was trying to match my panasports on my old datsuns w/ a modern cleaner look. I paid quite a bit for the rims/tires about 1450 again ebay and local (so i could pick them up). The stereo is a 2001 Q45 stereo (ebay 100)-exact fit except for wiring. I needed to get a schoche wiring harness adapter and a schoche stereo wiring harness but there was 1 pin missing that prevented the illuminate function to work so I had to hard wire that by adding a pin in that position of the adapter (above someone is commenting that there is an easier way).

Last thursday I sold this car to my best friend who has loved it ever since it arrived from florida. I'l miss it but it went to a good home. It was one of the nicest cars I ever owned. There will be others 4 me and I need the room for another project.

Hey everybody,

Bought a green 1994 Q45 from original owner with about 144K miles a couple of months ago. Previous owner took good care of it- replaced starter, all the injectors, fuel lines, fuel pump. New tires as of 132K. Everything stock.

Need to replace sun visors and passenger seat. After reading everything about chain guides, I'm glad I got a 94.

I'm really loving the power this thing has and the growl from the tailpipe. Glad I didn't get a LS.

Representin'

94 Tri-Coat Ivory Pearl, TCS, Turbine Alloys.

I love my Q. Rare is the day she doesn't get a good hard gallop in my 42 mile round trip to the cube dungeon each day.

Stole it in early Y2K in excellent condition, dealer serviced, lady driven w/ 80,000 miles for $9,995.

Stock, except for "A" bar (love it) and aux transmission cooler.

Standard replacements: plugs, alternator, water pump, belt pulleys, 2 batteries (OEM), motor mounts, shocks, radiator, MAF, MAF connector. Plenum pull at 180,000...replaced everything + valve cover gaskets.

Abnormal replacement: wiper moter. Wiper was turned on accidentially with 1/2" of ice.. Replacement is is a real b1tch! To get that freaking nut back on the new motor...arrgh...if you've done it you know what I mean!)

200k means it's time for some upgrades.

Bought 3 18" M45 wheels from gniknave. Looking for a 4th and spare. Scored some center caps from eBay. Can't wait to get these on. Also chewing on the idea of a NICO ECU (I'm a bit concerned this may hasten the departure of my 206k original transmission which does not seem to be appreciating the heat this year.)

Gave the girl her belated 200k birthday gifts today...BG44k, upper links, tie rod ends, PS boots, tension rod bushings (if I can get the d@mn bushings in), front rotors and pads all around. transmission flush on Tuesday. Going to detail her tomorrow with a nice wash and wax. (Anybody here "clayed" their car? Bought some "clay" today...it's supposed to condition the finish with less harshness than polish.)

I even started cleaning the brake dust gangrene out of my stock turbine 15"s while they are off the car. I like the wheels, but cleaning these thin slits is for the birds. (Suggestions for easier cleaning of these wheels would be appreciated!)

She needs new rubber bad. Last time I replaced tires I needed them fast (for a Thanksgiving trip--9 months ago) so I went to a local place...all they had was Falken Ziex ZE 512 225/60/15's. I took off Michelin Pilot H4 235/60/15's. No comparison...I've got 13k on these Falkens and they are WORN OUT. First 5k they were at 32psi from the tire shop...the edges melted off...dangerous stuff. The car never felt solid (for good reason)...the tires were mush. I put in 51psi and they have worn better (not just the edges), Traction, wet or dry, has been decent. Still not even close to the solid feel I got from the Pilots, may they rest in peace. I may try to get warranty replacement on the Falkens and use them as a winter tire once the 18's are on. I'll post before/after pics when I get the new wheels on.

My only chronic problem is that my remote locking/unlocking doesn't function properly. Remote keyfobs won't unlock the doors...they flip back and forth like they are possessed. This also seems to effect the automatic seat/steering positioner...it's been on cancel for about 3 years now. I got frustrated with the on-board diagnostics that I just gave up. May try to tackle this again soon.

I'm also getting the creeping rust in the bottom of the rear door frames. It's going to become visible soon...

I love NICO. I was a member of Yahoo InfinitiOwnersClub back in the day-- (as ATMFreeze). Would someone turn out the lights and put a sign in the dusty, lonely Yahoo site saying that the party has moved? Once in a while a poor lost soul still posts there--may they find their way in the dark world of the G50 without this site.

Howdy, I've got a '94 q45t dark green.

Bone stock besides my Pioneer in dash, 4x 6x9" Pioneers, 2x 12" JL audios and 1,200 watt memphis audio amp.

I'm looking to do put a supercharger on the engine. Has anyone tried this? Any thoughts?

A funny thing happened to me at the auto auction while looking for a $1000 daily driver. The story...

I was looking for basic transportation as a daily driver to last me a couple of years when my mechanic mentioned to me that a car he had worked on previously had been towed because the owner left if abandoned in a parking lot after the fuel pump went out. We go to the auction and I ended up buying this car --- a dark maroon 1990 Q45, 220K miles, minor fender damage & few scratches on the door panels, seats & carpet in excellent condition, runs great (after fuel pump & fpcu replaced). I paid $800 for it.

I later get online to find out more about what I just bought and I happened upon this site. I had no idea how desirable these cars were or that there would be this type of online help. I’m currently getting the brakes looked at and I intend to contact the local dealerships to see if I can find the service history for this vehicle. Though it has high miles, it appears to have been well maintained. Hopefully, the guide chains have been replaced and transmission serviced (learning a lot from your comments).

Needless to say, I’m now debating whether it would be worth putting a few more dollars into it and keeping it a bit longer than I had planned.

Any opinions? Is it worth the effort or would I be better off selling it (for a small profit) and finding a lower mileage Q45 with a well documented maintenance history. I’m really starting to like this car!

Welcome to NICO!

I'd keep it. Almost any you buy will require you to put some money into it. Unless you buy one from someone on this board that has maintained it perfectly. If you like it, like the color, interior is decent, no reason to move on to another car. Now, if you can get a few thousand for it I would be tempted to sell it. You can always find another for a good deal. Should be able to get one in nice shape for about $2500-3500 range. Maybe a bit more if it's really nice.

Welcome - now go make sure that your chain guides have been replaced ASAP as if they go, this will destroy your engine.

You MY is one of the most desireable IMOP as it's the most performance oriented of the G50 production. If you can, keep it. But be sure you have some money in pocket for unexpected sh*t.

Please post pics!
