firearms rock, one of the reasons this is a great country, anyone says different, just remember you have the right to and that one more reason this is a great country. Our lack of the cooler versions of certain cars however is annoying, but man, we're packin'. When I shoot my .45, even though it's cheap one, I think to myself "man, I'd hate to live in Britain or Australia, hell Japan too, cuz they're laws concerning firearms give me a headache and I don't like headaches."

your boy scout troop must have rocked, all I ever got to do was get pissed because I was never safe enough with knives to get the totem card to carry one to meetings...

on the plus side I'd like to think I'm very safe with firearms, but put a knife in my hands and I'll probably start tossing and flipping it and the like.

I pwn those damn dirty little orange clay pigeons. Though some may not like it, I rock when it comes to game bird shooting.

true, but it's gonna be the same where ever you go, some people probably have an outlook of this being a perfect world, I was brought up to be respectful of fire arms, and old school in the way of just pimpslapping some fool gettin in my face, I hate to fight though, I'd much rather be happy and roll down a really big grassy hill, cuz man, that rocks other than the whole getting really itchy part

hells yeah, most people make fun of boy scouts, but what ever. Durring my stay in scouting i camped on a beach in the virgin islands (and went bar hopping at night), sailing in the bahamas, more sailing on the chesapeke, charter fishing, target shooting, etc. Plus being a eagle scout really helped me get into college and get scholorships and stuff like that. Fond memories..

What leads you to this decision that he is a poor role model?

Who would you rather have as a role model? So often I see people quick to critique one's character, but then offer no solution of their own. So, the regular citizen can only laugh off these people who would attack a person or group, then offer no answer, because it's clear they don't have or try to have a solution, but instead just wanted to stomp their feet and make a statement and be noticed by others.

Here's how it works: You think something is done poorly, or you think a person or group of people are acting in poor character....what do you do? You prepare you own solution to fix the problem that you see, then present the solution in a fashion that will be taken seriously by others. This is how to get your point across to the unbelievers. Not a half hearted cheap shot at a man who many consider an upstanding citizen, full of character and admirable traits.(Heston)

Perhaps you have no solution. Perhaps you do. One thing is true: It's all in the delivery.

So far your delivery is lacking, because there has been no alternate idea proposed, just a non-productive comment about Charlton Heston.

WOW, this thread went way off topic, no?

Phil :)
