I got me an OBD2 Scanner. I need a little help on how to know if by any chance there's a way to pin point the specific Sensor that is Bad. I get the P0420 on both banks but How can I know if is the upstream or the downstream reading it from the Scanner?

What car/engine is this?

Unless it's a 96+ S14, there isn't going to be an OBD2 Port from the factory. Have you done an engine swap?

The S13/S14 KA/SR engine have an onboard diagnostic you can use to troubleshoot engine issues to some degree.

If you don’t have the switch to bridge ecu pins, aren’t you SOL for pulling codes manually?

it depends on your scanner. the cheaper scanners may not tell you specifically which sensor it is, only the bank it's on. If you're scanner tells you for example bank 1, sensor 2, then that's the sensor after the cat. If your scanner tells you nothing else besides which bank, you'll need a better scanner hooked up to the car to find out more specific information.

This may not be the answer you want to hear after you just spent 100 bucks on a scanner, but that'd the difference between a 100 dollar scanner and a 1000 dollar one.
