Hell no! you have no idea how buried this thing is... Id rather sell my car, or get one of thoseplug in space heaters than repalce the heater core..... Im pretty sure every nut and bolt would have to be taken out of the dash.....

BTW removing the dash is a PITA adn I may not do it...

No need to pull the core. If there's a valve there then it would be closed when you turn the key to ON with the AC off. So does it pass water or not? Check the wiring diagram. Check the coolant flow diagram. Try to feed water through the core. Let me know what you find and we can compare notes.

I should read the whole thread before I post. Otherwise, I might sound like an idiot.

After an hout sitting on the freeway She got a little hot about the top of the Boui never any higher.

Do you think theres a few air pockets or do you think the thermostat is sticking? It was in "normal" operating range.

The AMB read 105 on the CC's display. I'm gonna replace the thermostat next Monday.

Any advise on flushing the WHOLE system?

Do you use that little plug on the front of the engine that is under the the water pump?

Should I flush before or after the thermostat installation?

"Boui"?

What do you plan to do for the flush? Just a complete coolant replacement or a chemical flush? Don't have any feedback on the chemicals, good or bad, but if that's the plan do it before you replace the thermostat. Is there a Welsh plug below the pump? Didn't realize it. You can either flush with lots of water or you can use the drain plugs on the sides of the block. They're tough to get out though. I think I read of one case where trying to remove them resulted in a cracked block, but I'm not certain. Impact is the way to go, but there isn't much room. 14mm heads I think. You've already straightened the fins and removed all the leaves and cigarette butts from in front of the radiator? Backflush with water pressure.

I flushed my coolant system on my old Q... I went and bought some of that Zerex cooling system cleaner, added it in. and while I had the Tstat out, I would fill the radiator with coolant, start the engine, let it run for a minute, shut it down, drain, refill, etc.....

I was thinking about next time rigging an electric motor somehow to the water pump so I didnt have to start the engine every time.....
